i have a 90cm dish that i dont use anymore , it was used with a monoblock lnb years ago , however i am thinking of moving the dish to point at 28E and putting a quad lnb on it my question is would you recommend an inverto black quad and would it fit onto the arm of the dish ok or would i need some sort of adaptor ? thanks also would i need 0.2db for 28E

the lnb you quote is fine and has the standard 40mm neck so should fit ok but be aware that after several years the lnb holder may have deteriated.(time for a new dish as well?) a 60cm is big enough in the uk.

you dont say where you are, the inverto black ultra is good for motorised sytems or for fringe reception, 28east is very powerful over uk and ireland so a cheap quad lnb is fine. dont worry about 0.2b.

given that its only for sly then a cheap sly quad lnb will do the job for a fiver, although the inverto ultra black is the best value for money lnb so will definitely work fine too, as will any other universal lnb

I would buy the cheap sly one as thats all it will be used for, but make sure the current lnb adapter will be able to allow the neck of any lnb to be clamped by your lnb holder, or try to buy a new suitable lnb clamp for your dish as a supplied sly lnb holder is for sly dishes and the invertos dont come with any lnb holder, neither do any others either

a s*y quad has the wrong feedhorn for a 90cm oval off-set as you know although with it going on 28.2/5e the losses wont affect it any. get a cheap standard quad lnb for about £14 and do the job right, regards mdt

i looked on **** and there is a standard inverto black premium quad for £16.95 inc postage. I think a lot of the sky ones are 40mm as well but be safe get the best, difference in price is small.
