put the lan ip address of the duo into firefox
the web interface should present itself
now click on the tv bouquet containing the channel you wish to view
click on the 2 tv,s on the right of that channel in the onscreen list
select vlc as the player in the popup
vlc will now open and the programme will be displayed and will stream into vlc

First: Can you ping your STB via hostname & IP address from your PC?
If no
Go check what IP address your STB has assigned and try again with that one.
If yes
Is streaming enabled on your STB via the web interface plugin?

well, if its using 8001 then why is your link showing 8002 ? surely it cannot work with 8002 if its set to 8001 ?
I just tested my duo and a solo2 and 8001 was the one opened in firefox 19

first thing is check if your duo is on 192.168.1.76 like your post says
if is is , try changing the port from 8001 to 8002 and try again, seeing as your post says ip 76 and port 8002
