Sorry, what I mean is which versions will run on the S3600?

Armpit1UK, I am running the pkt Nebula 3 version just fine on my Icecrypt S3500. The link given in the first post is active but you have to join their site, as you would have to if you wished to download from here. The pages are mainly in german but I used google or bing translate to be able to read their instructions.

Ok, I'm getting a bit confused about this. Do I need to run a bootloader first before I can get the Nebula image to work? If I do, which one works for my S3600HD? I cant seem to get the Maxi Flasher bootloader to start up. The box recognises it as a plugin but then comes up with an error message saying it's incompatible. Am I doing something wrong or won't the S3600 run E2?

Also tried boxkit. Again the box recognises the plugin but when I try to run it it says it's not supported. Have tried forcing the flash to work by pressing the up channel button method and that fails with the message "Err 92".

What bootloader version is on your box, bootloader version 6.46 or above should allow you to run a HDClone version of nebula straight from your usb stick.
google pkteam versions and follow ALL instructions to the letter. Read all you can on this and other forums as I and others have done and you will find the correct version of E2 to work

Thanks.
My bootloader version is 7.26. I've tried a couple of German forums and they couldn't help. They just gave me this info
"First i thought this Box is similar to Octagon 1008SE+, but this isnt true.
Your Box has ID: 271020a0
This is a own Fortis-Group.
I dont know if Enigma is possible"
I'm going to have a look for HDClone Nebula, hopefully I'll get somewhere with that!

I have come across a couple of similar machines in the Octibox Anaconda & HD-Box FS9105+. Both seem to have some links to E2. If only I could read Czech or Greek.

Hi folks,it all seems to have gone quiet on the software update front for the S3600.I have had the box for a few months and would love to try it with Enigma 2. I have seen that the Fortis FS9105+ & Optibox Anaconda (similar spec machines) have support for Enigma 2 but I never see anything which says should work with the S3600. It bothers me that there seems to be a distinct lack of support for Icecrypt and that although they are linux based machines, there aren't many programmers who include us in their boot changers or images. Anybody else feeling the same?

I know how you feel, but all the info is out there. I did a guide a few months back for S35** and S36**, but must admit never had any experiance with your bootloader.

I'm not 100% but do the V7.** bootloaders do multiboot (it sees the uImage and other root.img on a USB and boots to E2), not sure.

If not there is a load of information over at our German friends (Octagon) forum, with regards to changing the bootloader to a known working version with E2 support.

If nothing else I now can read German, might even be able to say a few words, should be intresting trying to ask directions to the train station, in only terminolgy used on Enigma 2 German forums. LOL.

Hi Fatboy7,I did contact a couple of German forums but they didnt seem able to help. The S3600 seemed to be a mystery to them! Their bootloader changers cater for all the similar Fortis machines but not this one which I find odd. I will look at your guide again and see if I can get E2 to work that way. Thanks for taking the time to reply.

I have given it another go an thought I report in.
I have got Nebula V3 to boot up a couple of times with the Octagon loading screen but then it all goes black and nothing else happens. Any ideas? Is my USB pen too slow? It's flashing a lot but no messages on the screen nor on the box.

Fourth time lucky! Got it working but it seems very slow and keeps hanging. Will try again.

Well done mate.

Could be USB stick speed now, I always use a sandisk ultra (states 15mb tx speeds), for E2 images, I found them on special offer at Asda at £9.50.

Like this one - _http://www.viking-direct.co.uk/catalog/catalogSku.do?id=5617935&cm_mmc=googleplusbox-_-feed-_-usb-memory-sticks-_-5617935&_%24ja%3Dkw%3ASanDisk+Ultra+Flash +Drive+16GB|cgn:pla-Computing+and+Communicating+%3E+D ata+Storage+Devices|tsid:22005|mt :{MatchType}|crid:17599829897&gclid=CNTJv8S36LUCFRDKtAodwHcAQg

Never done a 3600 but should be miles better than my s4000 as its nearly double its specifications.

Keep us posted on how a known faster stick works, and I'll do some digging around as well.

I kept E2 running all evening and it seemed to do the basics well although I only tried it on freeview. Some plugins like Youtube & the picture viewer made it crash. The next issue was that I could connect to the box via ftp prior to E2 but not afterwards,I've no idea why? The other thing which I think may hamper the further use is that it runs off USB but upgrades and addons are also done by USB aren't they?

I think the problem was a combination of the USB being slow & the Nebula image. Now running HDMU perfectly well on a Cruzer 16GB stick. It was worth the persisting.

Good Afternoon,

I thought I would let you know that I have successfully managed to run the USB HDMU E2 image on my Icecrypt S3600. I have downloaded all the channel lists but I have a few questions that I hope someone can help me with.
Firstly, I have a USB HDD connected which worked well (formatted NTFS) with the original firmware but in E2 I can't seem to get it to initialize,so i can't record or timeshift. The HDD is recognised though?
Secondly, the box is connected to the internet via lan but my ip address seems to change every time I re-boot so I have to keep checking the address before I can connect with Dreambox Edit or Filezilla. The original firmware kept the same ip address so why does it now keep changing?
Thirdly, I am trying to add a cline which worked perfectly well previously in xcam. I now have cccam installed as a plugin and have amended the cccam config file but it doesn't seem to work. Should I be using a different softcam?
Finally, once those issues are figured out, what are the best plugins available? Does Icefilm work with this image?
Thanks

echelon

I havent tried the icecrypt on an E2 image but do have other E2 boxes so will help where I think I can

1) linux hdd are formatted in ext so you will need to use that option and not ntfs which is a windows format.. this is usually done from the box menus themselves and therefore not on a pc

2) use a fixed ip by turning off dhcp and setting it manually yourself, and also allocate that fixed ip in the router settings too

3) there are plenty of cccam tutorials etc on the forum here, in the newbie dreambox section and cccam section
..just ensure it follows the conventional format and is in the cccam.cfg file
..( C: nameserver.no-ip.org 12000 username password )
