This is by far the best ASSBox release ever. :)
For those of us who already have a previous release installed do we need to reflash with this or do the on line updates bring us up to this level anyway?
Hearty thanks to the OpenPLi & OpenAZBox Teams for producing this superb image.

Hi Donki,
I suggest that you reflash and dont do update nor on previous release nor after flashing, because there is some problem, actually we are implementing CI support. So just flash Release 7 and that's it.
Release 8 is comming very soon with a lot of changes and fix's.

Bummer. Have been away for some time and not used my Azbox. (It was gathering dust). Thought I would get back into things.
Dusted off th ebox, installed Azup 2.2.4 onto my PC, and tried to install this version.
Am now just getting the "booting" display.
Does this mean I have bricked my machine?

Stuck on Booting is widespread issue for Azbox HD E2 users.
Try the usual remedies.

So it would seem. Thought if I used the advised AzUp it would all be ok. Things havent improved much then. Think that's why I left the scene before.
Supposed I had better look for a un-bricking cable on fle*bay.

The right and latest Azup is now 2.2.7.
Maybe with 2.2.4 you have bricked your box.

yes this happened to me using 2.2.4 - 2.2.7 ive never had a problem!

When you read at the top of this page "Install image with AZUp 2.2.X" you would think 2.2.4 would be ok.
Guess I should never assume. Lesson learned. :-(

I have tried to download this firmware a number of times from mediafire.com and I keep getting a download fault, mediafire also keeps trying to put advertising popups/adaware on my laptop that my anti-virus software blocks.
Can anyone post a clean link that works or post the file they downloaded.
Thanks
James

Take OpenATV (https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?162364-OpenATV-goes-Azbox). I think this is better than this OpenPLI.

one interesting thing i noticed , i have openATV in boot image 0 \ openrsi in boot image 1 \ OAM r7 in boot image 2 - i tuned in to a wrestling feed on thurs night using OAM r7 and the picture was jumpy and glitchy - i then went to my openATV image (0) and it played fine.

Thanks Zenini for your reply, I think I need to find out what are the main differences if any between OpenATV and OpenAZBox PLi MOD HD, I bricked my box using Azup...I think it was because I did the same as Ebro and used 2.2.4 and not 2.2.7 I managed to get my premium+ back to original firmware with the old kernel using a USB-to-TTL serial interface but want to avoid a repeat of recovering a bricked box or bricking it for good.
There also seems to be 2 E2 kernels and also OpenRSI software which makes the whole moving to E2 more confusing because you use Azup for all the kernels and software.
Kind regards
James.

OpenATV have gst support. Maybe this is the different.

you should be able to do it with AZUP 2.2.7 - switch off azbox, hold down right volume button on stb, and switch on (make sure its on LAN) then it will be in rescue mode - then using AZUP 2.2.7 - enter the IP address rescue mode is scrolling, and point to the latest E2 file, bosh!

Thanks ManikM, You and Zeini have been helping me on another post with opening softcams channels...the problem I had here was I had the old kernel installed, to resolve it I did an internet download of RTi firmware which contained the new kernel and then I was able to get to rescue mode and load OpenAZbox firmware.
Thanks
James
