further to recording issues ,,I Reflashed myreceiver factory reset reinstalled new plugin Mgcamd , and for about 12 hours everything worked perfectly could record one ch watch another rewind ,fastforward etc all functions worked correctly ,then the receiver crashed and reverted to its old self, black recordings no picture on fta or encr, any ideas?

Regardless wether it was working for 12 or so many hours, it has been well do***ented in previous threads that mgcamd has 'issues' with the icecrypt's.
You could either use a different plugin or continue to flash clean every 12 hours or so.

any reccomendations on which is the most stable with latest firmware or is it a case of suck it and c

None of the plugins have been updated and some are several years old. Just choose which ever 1 that works best for you BUT don't expect it to be picture perfect stable. The ice(s) in all honesty are a waste of time & yes I also own 1 (please don't ask me why; I ask that same question whilst looking at the box).

ManikM gave the best advice...get rid and buy a dedicated enigma box just as Echelon and many others did.
