suggest you bin these old boxes and buy a vbox and a vu solo2

moved to the correct forum and edited the title name too

your other thread (tm600) has been moved to the tm9100 and other linux boxes forum

the tm600 had images similar to the old sd dm500s, but HD and E2 has taken over from E1 and SD now !!

there was a hack many years ago to change the tm5500 dacpi to a next receiver, but its all "old hat" now and we no longer support such and old and obsolete receiver here

you could carry on using the tm5500 as a positioner instead of using a vbox to position the dish, but a vbox is a better option seeing as all modern receivers are diseqc and do not natively support a 36 volt motor

hi echelon sorry have put in the wrong place yes I realized that I put the wrong number down and as you guess I did a factory reset on recommendation and now have lost all and wanted to see if there was any software to put it back. I have had the motor and dish put up this bit is a bit hard to explain but have 2 tm5500 one with cams and one without and the one without moves dish ok and stores all ok but the one with cams wants to move the dish any where and does not seem to store sats very well and this is why I did a factory reset wish I hadn't now, that's why I asked if there was a software update to put all back in.

sorry for long post

ok, well I will leave it here "just in case" but as with many old receivers you may not find what you want any more as newer boxes and software have come on the market, I cant find anything suitable for your old tm5500 or your "new" tm600 on this forum, especially as they are all obselete models

both of your threads are now in the correct forums according to model numbers

I also believe the old d***man tm1000 loader was used to load in firmware by serial cable, usually by null modem cable

Hi Echelon what do you use to unscramble if not using cams

hi manic01 so if I program a card with correct files then I should be ok. just need to use the correct card to program

that method has more or less died the same death that the cams have done

yes you will be able to get a few channels using a smart cam like a diablo or a trex, possibly even a funcard or similar, but I can honestly say I havent used either method for about 5 years or more and most members will say the same

if you look at a compass post detailing the channels opened by a spiderbox softcam you will find that the same applies to most receivers with patches in them, and also if you check the biss forum again you will find lists of channels opened by biss k*ys too

what you dont seem to understand is that all those old methods we used to use have more or less been killed off years ago, with just a few channels left like bulsat and orf and dorcel etc

if you manage to program the tm600 you bought you could use cams called emulators (emus) to open a few channels, as detailed in the dreambox forums

or you could buy a new up to date box and patch it and open whatever is available for it, if it has a cam slot maybe you could use a diablo or trex cam in it to open a few channels using old encryptions, but if you are going to persist in using old equipment you cannot expect to do what the rest of us are doing as you seem to be stuck back in 2004 when you joined ;)

I used patched spiderboxes and they are now obsolete too

point taken but it's all I know and my technical ability is not as good as yours that's why I use the old method and it's hard to keep uptodate with new stuff

thanks

no problem as long as you realise you wont get much using the old methods using old boxes, old cams and old cards, and the old files and info are gradually disappearing so you wont find up to date info like what you are asking for as the majority of members have moved on years ago, myself included

hi -- agp

i have the loader forTechnomate 5000 - 5500 (DTSLink 40B)
and files for the Technomate 5500 DAPCI (2 different versions depending which centre colour the remote has)
if these are any use to you i can upload them here for you ?

it "didn,t" solve the position/memory storing problem that one of mine had though !!

Hi cc the remote is black in the centre where ok button is as you can see from this thread I have factory reset the receiver and now have nothing on it. You can upload if you wish and I will try or if you p.m me I would email you my address and if you can put them onto a disk and post them to me I would send you back the postage cost. I am clutching at straws in order to get it back up and running. Even technomate support carn't help as I have tried them.

thanks for your help in advance

hi -
i don,t think the files i have will be any good -- my info says the black centre remote is tm 5000, (is this correct) i dont have that file .
my two files are for the tm 5500 -- blue or silver centre remote -- see picture --

the loader i have will be ok for tm 5000 and tm 5500 so i will upload that for you --
i cant remember where i got the t.m. files from right now -- i will have a look around later and get back here if i turn anything up --
