I heard that you can only put 1 sealion instead of 10 like in Spider9000, is that true?!?

captainglassback

and a 6000 channel limit!!! The (less than) 10000 limit on the 9000HD is the 9000's only weakness for my use.

chopper1

surprising the channel limit is not equal to the 9000 receiver, i would like to know if its a single or twin tuner and is that true about only 1 line not up to 10 lines as my current 7000 has
Anyone know the price?

Is IKS included in box price or do you have to get it separately?

A call to Lee at Goldwafers would probably answer that for you, unless another member has the answer. Regards, 2colby.

IKS firmware Spider box HD 6000 Has been uploaded on another forum. I have downloaded waiting for delivery of my box.
To load the software you will need to use a USB pen and once loaded press menu, followed by 1111, and enter network menu and highlight IKS and press connect
All this seems similar to my old HD9000

Trust this helps
Ps I first saw your post Satcat and within a hour I had ordered a box. If this box is no good I will be able to blame you Ha Ha

Correct...

it's even true, in Forums are not only Hobby people, but even basters and Spies looking only for troubles.. Specially in that forum some one is talking ( investigators - Competitors and all their Dogs Company done every thing to kill Spiderbox ) that's maybe some one is trying to stay underground to gave more life to Spiderbox people.

I have just seen this info posted by William-1 on the other forum ref Spiderbox 6000 channel lists:

Please Note:-

The current Spiderbox HD channel lists are only compatible with the original Spiderbox HD 9900, 9000 & 7000 versions using the UDB file system.
The UDB files will not work on the new Spiderbox HD 6000

The Spiderbox HD 6000 High Definition Satellite Receiver & Smartbox HD 6000 use an SSU file system,
The SSU file system is not compatible with the other the Spiderboxes HD 9900, 9000, 7000 UDB file system or visa versa.

Posted by Anrakh:

No, it's no clone - it's a new box.

jimihendrix added:

I will add that the HD6000 which I've had for a couple of weeks has impressed me greatly, it's very small footprint means you can site it almost anywhere the picture quality is great, it has both wired and wi fi connections and there have already been two software updates.
I am very please with it.

Yes very pleased with 6000Hd
I have been trying to build a channel list to suit my needs, it will be good if a channel editor becomes available.
wiFi Ok
IKS OK With more opening than I expected
set up with Sat scan v/good

As I have been using 9000Hd for several years getting around the new menu is Challenging

At my age I update different sections over each day HaHa

For the price I can't see why anyone can go wrong

Did you do a factory reset before and after the update?, that sorted it for me. But don't forget to save your channel list first.

:respect-023:Hi just wondering if anyone had success with the fix for reciever re-booting problem using the patch as suggested in post 51 above. Tried it myself this morning but didn't fix it for me at least (and yes I do believe I followed the correct procedure: including the two factory resets). Is there anything obvious I'm missing I wonder? thanks in advance.:applause-038:

just ordered one of these Spider6000 HD to replace my faulty old Spider9000HD
i ordered it here with Satpimps Sponsor @ Goldwafer.com

i believe it was Goldwafers where i bought the now faulty Spider9000HD i cant fault the service from goldwafers i mean at least 3 OR 4 or so years and box [ Spider9000HD ] came with only a 1 year guarentee and i manged to get about 4 years outta it ..and the tuner is dead now but im ok with that it had a real good long life so no complaints here from me and im due an upgrade as Spider9000 HD is pretty much history and not easy finding one nowadays anyhow so that for me is good enuff reason to upgrade to the newer Spider6000HD
hopefully there is no issues delivering to Rep.Ireland ?
my order went thro' successfully at least .
Reading this thread here has just been a huge reason why Satpimps is such a great informative Sat forum you guys deserve massive Respect thanks to every one of you that posted in this thread its been a superb help to me in making my decision to buy this box .

All i want with Spider6000HD is a card slot and Home network sharing and ability to use N lines just like old Spider9000HD that is the only thing im not just 100% certain about .

so what you are actually asking is if it can be used as an n line server like the 9000 and 7000 can ?

no idea is my answer, although you could use a linux box with oscam for that task and have the tm5402 and the spider 6000 just as receivers as both can receive n lines

maybe somebody else knows if it can be used to serve out n lines ?

Thats the million dollar question echelon mate right there in a nutshell m8,
can spider6000 HD be used to serve out n lines ? even to a box on my local LAN ?
hopefully someone that has this box can answer this but if not i guess i will find out for myself in the coming days : )

It does not have the option to share your lines yet, only client now (very good with nlines and clines). Currently I have to use a card splitter to share with a box in the bedroom. I hope it will be added with some of the future updates. as it is well supported box

Thanks for your reply Darkman .
Its ok my old Spider9000HD gave me a great run for its money i mean it was around sept 2009 when i bought it so thats very close on 4 years it lasted
ive never had a box that lasted more than 3 years even so in reality its not all bad and it still works perfectly ok except the tuner is no longer working good ,
i guess the Spider9900HD is same scenario aswell then only client box ?

im not upset by any means and sure i'll be very happy with Spider6000HD and i am happy to hear any feedback at all
and also i'd be happy enuff to buy a Spider9900HD aswell if it does the biz as in server/client like spider9000HD ?

For Spiderbox HD6000 ,you will have to wait the updates .....
