The feed is almost double the bit rate too. Why is this. Box nation which u have to pay for is half the pic quality

Yes indeed very good i am recording this Feed on external caddy USB hard drive 120GB on my TM5402 M2 HD
its very good pic quality indeed will watch this tommorrow morning .

It's standard practice for broadcasters, because the signal will have to be transcoded again into the sky uplink. Every transcode actually degrades the picture quality a little bit each time. Remember when you used to copy a VHS tape? Obviously the degradation is not that bad, but gives you an idea ;)
A prime example is the BBC golf open HD feed on 24.5w...... a stonking 42.5Mbits/s :) BBC 1/2HD are no where near that bit rate.
There are other considerations as well, many channels use variable bitrate, the feed has to be of a higher bitrate for VBR to work efficiently.
