Hi Guys,
since my HD 9000 has failed I've been looking at a HD6000 to replace it.

Also about 6 months ago I inherited an openbox s11.
In my opinion it is very poor, remote is difficult to read, menu layout is all wrong, i won't go on but since it was a freeby it's used on the kids TV.

In one of the post here COMPASS has kindly put up photos of the HD 6000. The menu is very similar the openbox.

Now I don't want to replace my 9000 with a 6000 if the 6000 is very similar to the openbox. Wifi is no interest to me.

Has anyone got both? Are they simliar apart from the wifi?

BTW my trusty Technomate 9100 is still working after probably 7-8 years and is still my favourite!

They are not similar at all .
Remote is one of the best and the advantage is that you do not need to target to a specific spot of box .

Wifi is internal and works 100% ,in Openbox/Skybox is external and it doesn't work with most internet providers of any protocol.

Spiderbox/Smartbox HD6000 has Novatek cpu instead of Ali cpu that Openbox/Skybox has .

Novatek cpu is generally very fast and it has very quick remote response in changing channels .

It supports various movie, music formats .
It also works perfect with DiseqC 1.0 - 1.1 - 1.2 - Usals .
Cccam/Newcamd lines also work fine .

Maybe blue colour of menu reminds you other receivers like Openbox but this colour is common to boxes
.
*Update project contains some style changes .....

Spiderbox 6000 wins every time against openbox s11 (or any number for that matter)
