Quite a cool plugin for translating the EPG of foreign countries.
at the mo however its restricted to the country you choose in the setup when you press menu,so if you select german,then thats all it can translate.so set it up to the package you watch the most.
i hate the flags as well,just too much in your face and im going to look into reducing the size of them.

all in all though its very useful and hopefully it will improve to cover more languages at setup.

ok ive changed the code in the plugin to accept smaller size flags.so extract the rar file and send over the attached plugin.pyo file to
/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/EPGTranslator/
and overwrite the original.
ive chosen 144x144 which is half the size of the original,and ive edited the italian,german,spanish and english flags to this size.in my view they look so much better.
i really cant be arsed doing the rest,so if you want another flag just open up the flag.png in office and resize it to 144x144 ,save it,and then overwrite the original flag with your resized one, so it fits into the modified plugin properly.

this is just down to a matter of personal taste,but i really couldnt handle the flags as they were.

Will this allow you read English plus one other language or just one.

it translates the epg data of a foreign provider into english,but at the mo it will only let you select just one
so if you choose italian then it will only work on sky italia or if you choose spanish it will only work on digital+

hopefully in the future the epg language will be auto detect.

latest version 0.5 rc1

edited to use smaller flags.(resized flags included)
now has auto detect language in the setup so the plugin now translates all providers automatically.best used with a quickbutton i think,so you just go to the provider then just press your quickbutton and the synopsis appears onscreen.

still room for improvement as i dont feel keeping the original language is needed and i may remove that too,and resize the epg info box so it appears more like an infobar just displaying the english text onscreen,if i get the time.

getting a u solo in the week...how do you add this excellent plug in...by using vu centre?

I dont use vu centre send it with ftp to tmp folder on your solo and from manuel ipk install menu u can install it mate .

Yes, stevethejack, I am getting URL error since upgrading to BH 2.1.0. EPG Translator has upgraded itself to latest version - but error persists, something about https???

Theyve still not fixed that little gem.You can add a lib to fix this issue,but I forget which one it is.

Yes you need the file attached (textwrap.py)

Just unzip the file and then copy textwrap.py into /usr/lib/python2.7 and give it 644 attributes and then reboot your box.

It's not included in the OE git it seems for the Solo, Duo, Uno, Ultimo or Solo2, (which is why it's not in the BH images for these box's) but it is included for the Duo2 luckily (which is how I foundout how to get HTTPS working on BH images).

/usr/lib/python2.7 is where I found the file in the Duo2 and where it works on all my box's with BH.

But aslong as it's working for you, thats all that matters.

I did upgrade to BH 2.1.0. and have done everything by Ian, CokeAddict & Paulus and all working again.

Been in Ireland for a few days, so only now able to do anything about it, while Mrs has a lie-in and I don't get the "Are you still playing with that satellite box again?"
