Hi all, new to the forum and am trying to perform a fairly complicated task.
Essentially, I want to be able to look at the channels I have tuned my receiver to, but want to view them on computers in different rooms in the house, either via xbmc, or through web page streaming. any solution works for me :)
The receiver I have is an Icecrypt S 3550HDCCI, the same as the Octagon 918G SE PLUS.
Any tips would be greatly welcome.
PS, I hope this is the right forum subsection to post in.
Thanks very much!

nah, wrong forum ;) lol

moved to the icecrypt forum

to stream to pc,s and tablets you ideally need receivers like the vu solo2 or duo 2 , or the older duo or similar , usually a receiver running linux

tools like dreamstream came out for the dreambox (possibly needing firefox or vlc), and I think you can probably do this trick from any vu receiver, definitely from the ones I mentioned using the pc web browser like firefox on the pc and logging into the receiver ip address and the webif from what I remember

these same vu receivers will also stream to tablets and smartphones too, with the vu using the vu app in android

I have no idea if this is possible from your icecrypt though

Hi All,

@Necrotic, Check to see if your Box's
Image has (OpenWebif) its a virtual
remote,. It connects to your box
by (In my case) Wi Fi card in PC.
To check your box, Open 3550's
Menu, navigate to (Network) get
the box's Ip address, goto your PC
Open browser and type in (Top line)
the 3550 Ip Address. If Openwebif
is in It, it will pop up.

As echelon said VU box's have the
ability to connect to any PC.
My box is a VU+ Uno. All I need
to view ANY channel on ANY Satellite
is the VLC Media Player.

Connect to Box with OpenWebif, chose
a Channel say S@y Sport2 Ashes, then
VLC will pop up asking if you would
like to Connect, once connected
Minimise screen size and stick it in
a corner and carry on Computing.
Only one thing with my setup is,
My Router can only pump up
SD channels, need a 802.11
Router to receive HD channel
Wi Fi on PC.
The you can use the Virtual
Remote to change Satellite
say S@y Italy 13e.

BF.

or you could use tvheadend - its brilliant allowing you to stream to all xbmc or transcoding around the house.

Could you tell me how I could go about setting up tvheadend? I have a synogoly nas, which has a plugin for tvheadend. I have a Icecrypt 3500 which I would like to stream to my raspberry pi running raspbmc.

Thanks
