Hello

I have got a new motor for my dish, the tm-2600, in the manual theres a website to calculate the motor elevation.

this site is no longer working for me, gaaps.com.tw

I was wondering if there was anyone from southampton in the forum that could help with my motor elevation.

I am getting from 42e to 11w , no hispasat and my elevation is set to 50 on the motor.

Hope someone can help, Thanks.

try this site __http://www.satsig.net/maps/lat-long-finder.htm

your latitude = 50.9 N which is 51 on your motor

Sorry for being a bit slow :-)

Latitude = 50.85709, Longitude = -1.39425
Lat = 50 degrees, 51.43 minutes North
Long = 1 degrees, 23.66 minutes West
If you want to point a satellite TV dish at Satellite= 1 West orbit longitude

Beam elevation= 31.8, Azimuth= 182.3 (magnetic compass), Polarisation= -0.3

So I put to motor on the bracket, face it as close to 1w as I can, then tilt the motor to 31.8. Is this right ?
tweaking with the dish can be done after, up down left right?.

Thank you for very quick reply.

no, you put the motor onto just under 51 degrees latitude and tighten it, and dont alter it after this

set your location on your satellite box under usals (input your longitude and latitude) and then select bbc world news on 0.8w in its menu and the motor will drive to 0.8w (this may be close to zero on the motor itself, as zero has to point to your true south)

then move the motor mount left and right and the dish adjuster up and down until you get that channel, and adjust for peak signal and peak quality and lock up the mounting bolts on the motor to pole and also lock up the dish (the dish elevation is likely to be between 25 and 30 degrees, but your tm2600 instruction book should tell you the figure, but dont worry if its slightly out

ps:- your book mentions 22.6 for the dish elevation so I suppose it may be somewhere around that figure, dependent on the dish offset figure

you may need to check that the wall your motor is fixed to is upright.

Thanks for your help and info installing the tm-2600.
It took me the hole day yesterday getting it right, can now get
from 45e to 30w, 29 satellites, 11000+ channels.

Anyone near Southampton installing this motor could
try setting the motor elevation to 41 to 42 degrees.

Thanks :respect-050:
