help with E001

Hi I have a F3 box with error E001 any advice help plz:o15::o15:

Either your motherboard is shot or you have corrupted the firmware and will need to flash by RS232. I've attached files below which are needed to 'hopefully' sort your box out which include some factory firmware's and also a UK firmware to load by USB after the RS232 flash.

No probs mate. Attached below: F3 Clone firmware and RS232 upgrade tool.

STB memory error usually means you need to run the config.bat file before starting the loader. Just click on it with your mouse then run the loader with the skybox turned off until the program says it is trying to synchronize, at that point power up the skybox.

Let us know how it went.

I think the box is plucked as I followed everything you explained

If it hangs for more than 5 mins just cancel it and start again. ONLY connect the power supply AFTER you get the message 'Please reset target'.

make sure you are using a proper com port on a desktop or tower pc , running xp, and make sure the correct type of com lead is used, usually its a 9 pin null modem crossover cable on most boxes

dont bother using usb adapters, or win7 or win8 , and ideally not vista either

Echelon is bang on, try your best to source a pc/laptop that has proper com port. Some have had success with usb to com port adapters and some not so its all pot luck. If using Win7 make sure you run everything as admin.

**Side note**
If it's still failing to start loading, turn the box off via the rear power switch & again press "NEXT" then turn the receiver back on. It may take several times before the box starts to load the firmware so just be patience.

i'm having a similar problem with my f5(clone?) tried various f/w from different website but after the box flashes with any of the software and reboots, it goes up till 93 and then e001 error appears.
im getting the following error message now
STB SDRAM IS FAILED

any ideas?
