Hello,

I have bought a TomTom GO 730 from ****.
I have backed everything up to my computer
using TomTom HOME.

The app and map details are:-

App: 8.002 (9117/080328) OS:164445
64 MB RAM (free 27.2MB)
GPS v1.21, Boot 5.5120
Map: "Western_and_Central_Europe_2GB" v800.1762
Language: English UK

In the backup, I noticed the following:

Folder: LoquendoTTS
File: UserPatch.dat

Does this mean that I don't have
an original TomTom Navcore?

Should/can I update the app (Navcore)?
If so, what would you recommend?
I don't have a TomTom login.

Once I have updated the app, then I
think I'm happy enough updating the
maps (I used to do this for my PDA
using BBSTools).

Regards,
paulw

Use Tomtom home & keep updating until no more updates available, then patch the navcore - you can use bbstools for this. You can then add most of the new maps that are available (& also have a me ta file for them).

Many thanks for the advice. I have now updated the Navcore to 9.701.
However, when I attempt to patch the Navcore using bbstools I get a
popup window that displays the error message

"application does not exist..."

Am I missing something?
BBSTools (v1.0.69) finds the device OK and correctly
lists the device info.
I'm using a laptop running Windows 7 Pro (64-bit).

Have you tried running it as Admin ?

If that still fails try this activation tool then - copy it onto the Tomtom & then run it through your pc

The tool will probably need updating before you use it.

Running as Admin did the trick.
Many thanks.
