ok guys and gals just added 2.5" hard drive but when ftp files to pc only transfering around 3 megs old vu+duo on same gigbite switch is up at 10 plus what am i doing wrong?

your pc hdd has to be ntfs and not fat or fat32 , so make sure its partitioned and the date partition is ntfs

doesnt matter, it still has to be ntfs on your pc or laptop or you hit the maximum file size allowed under fat32 which is about 4 gig (google it for more info)
the one in your vu will be ext format

I had a similar problem, where I could only transfer at 11mb/s.
My router had 4 Ethernet sockets but only 1 was a gig, other 3 were 100mb.
Putting a gig switch in sorted the problem.

no idea, but your post and thread is labelled HARD DRIVE not transfer rates so my answers were about the hard drives on the vu and pc
