Please provide feedback for latest Phantom patch 756P as posted in the 'Firmware' section!
https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?163714-Phantom-New-TM-6900HD-Super-patch-756P-1-10-13&p=887882#post887882

I am about to try it myself.:respect-051:

I tested new patch 756P (Phantom labelled it 'test patch' as follows:-

1) Started off on patch 726P TM6900HD Super
2) Backed up Channel List
3) Factory Reset
4) Loaded patch 756P via USB
(First time TM6900HD Super hung up at end of firmware load process - had to switch stb off/on from rear)
5) Ran Factory Reset again
6) Reloaded new patch 756P
7) Factory Reset again
8) Loaded Backed up Channel List from 2) above
9) 8281 opened lines but not channel, so
10) Loaded 'Add-on', just in case it was that - hadn't NEEDED Add-on on last few patches as Phantom had built it into firmware!
11) All 8281 function working ok SO FAR - but still need to check out SCT HD 13E to see if still freezing, plus 28E issues previously reported on 755P!
(Will report back about this another time)
12) Tested softcam - 7E Digit**k working ok, 19E ORF ok, TNT Sat ok, 23.5E CS Link NOT opening, Bulsat 39E opening ok.
(so CS Sat still only softcam/patch 756P issue here!)
13) 7 day EPG working fine (took 4mins to populate BBC One HD on 28E)
14) PVR working perfectly, it also recorded ok directly from 7 day EPG

15) Blind Scan (espec on 1W) Still to be tested - will report back later!
16) 8280 Biss keys entered on previous patch 726P were all lost, so need re-entering - NOT good!

So, assuming this is based DIRECTLY on old good patch 726P as requested by HORDES of us, so far so good thanks Phantom!:number-one-043:

New observation for Phantom/TM re TM6900HD Super as found by me today:-

Sorry Phantom, but just found that Blind Scan on patch 756P is STILL stopping at 22% (freq 11675/6V) - just as it did on patches 753P, 755P (both versions) and 013P beta test patch, whereas on 726P it scanned PERFECTLY, so SOMETHING must need tweaking please!

Ok mate, so why did it work PERFECTLY when on 726P?
How can you scan your channel list without having first loaded the Channel List either mate?

I thought that the whole idea of blind scan is that it finds all of the channels on the satellite without you needing to enter any transponder details first.

Come on guys, stop the bickering. You Both provide very valuable information in your own way,
for which I for one very much appreciate.
Re holmroad's Blind scan problem, maybe we should ask how many other members suffer from
the same problem ? As a start, I have No problem in blind scanning 1W

many thanks to holmroad and the phantom for the new patch 756 did blind scan on 1 west no problem not opening 23 east others seem ok. I first downloaded 7.52 from technomates web site did factory reset then loaded 756 patch maybe this will work for you

You need to be on the satellite first, So you need a lock on something.

I had actually deleted ALL the transponders on a previous attempt mate - thought I'd posted it somewhere, yet even starting from scratch, as you say, it still had probs whilst on the newer patches which DONT happen at all when on 726P!
Think someone pointed out to me that there's maybe a frequency (around 11675V on 1W) the TH6900HD Super 'attempts' to scan in but fails to handle (on newer patches that is) and goes into the 'hang-up' scenario!
Who knows mate, maybe its not as significant as all that as I can scan both sides of that frequency in two parts which still works but obviously is more messy than simply blind scanning in ONE go!
Either way, the more I use patch 756P the more I do like it persnally, even despite the blind scan on 1W issue!:respect-050::respect-069:

@Tell has no issues with blindscan on 1w using same patch so something amiss with your stb maybe?

Ok mate, but 'how' can it be stb - when the SAME Channel List I backed up whilst on 726P works fine all the way through a blind scan whilst on patch 726P - yet consistently stops at 11675V when on patch 7553P,755P x 2 and several 'test beta' patches - the fact that it works perfectly on 726P SURELY suggests it MAY be in the later patch somehow?
I have factory reset many times during the procedures, started from scratch with channels - and vice versa - yet still have this issue, so if its really a stb fault I dont really see why myself?
Either way mate, I'm sure life will go on - and I shall still perervere with my trusty TM6900HD Super for the immediate future as its working very well in most other ways at present!
Thanks again manic01 mate!:respect-051:

Or maybe my software is somehow corrupting MY Channel List I suppose?
There may be corruptions within the Channel List itself , yet I feel I have re formed it anyway recently several times!
Maybe a cndf edit could get rid of some **** - I think Zorch elsewhere once did that for me, I'll have to look it up!!:respect-067:

Hi mate, I do find your comments here very interesting, but exactly which stb have YOU got, I dont think you've said and maybe patch 756P is for both TM6900HD Super (like mine) and also maybe TM6800HD?
The interesting thing here is, as manic01 also states, is that if your receiver is EXACTLY like mine then why do I get this prob on 1W full BLIND Scan yet you dont?:cup-006:

my model is the tm6900 hd combo super + just tried blind scan again on 1 west did not find anything on11675v but kept going and found 837 channels

So yours is the Super+ mate, not QUITE the same as my TM6900HD Super, so maybe mine DOES have a 'hardware' prob - but cant really see it - if I Blind scan on 726P )WITHOUT a break!) I too get over 800 channels, but a bit less when I scan in two parts on patch 756P!
Thanks again mate!:respect-069:

Cheers mate, I think there's a 'Basic firmware' version 727 (no 'P'!) I already have, so I will think about starting again and reloading whole think for patch 756P, but as 756P seems to be working pretty well for ME in many other ways (apart from CS Link on 23.5E not opening ex softcams, plus SCT HD on 13E still freezes immed but audio continues, I wonder if its really worth it when only 1W Blind Scan is playing up - plus I've already asked Phantom to address it if possible in next patch 757P too!
Its strange that other satellites (e.g. 7E, 30W, etc etc all blind scan fine, so maybe its all down to a particular record at freq 11675/6V on 1W which is not being handled properly by 756P patch, yet works fine on 726P!):respect-040:

(NB: 706 you suggest suerly is NOT for my TM6900HD Super anyway?)

Just revertd back patch 755 posted by manio1 dated 29/09/2013 this is opening more channels than patch 756 like the usual ones on 39-23-19-13-7-4 east and 1 west . blind scan works on 1 west, also the 2 firmware updates from technomates suport site are 7.52 for tm6900 combo super dated Dec 2012 and 7.06 for the tm6900 hd combo dated July 2012

Cheers mate - you go with what YOU feel is best for you!

I have a mega error to own up to regards mu Blind Scan probs on 1W - manic01 will LOVE this lol!!:-

In my TM6900HD Super Set Up under 'Satellite' I had freq as 9,750-10,750 for SOME reason and changed that to 9,750 -10,960, Diseq 1.0 was Off - but now 1 of 4 & Diseq 1.1 was Off too but changed to 1 of 16

Then I did the Blind Scan of 1W and it fully scanned in 752 channels, 73 radio channels - all with NO hang up at 22%!

So maybe my set up was wrong all the time -maybe got changed somewhere in the past!

So still on 756P for time being - with my face very red - sorry Phantom - AND manic01!

However there are are still a few outstanding issues to be fixed please:-
SCT HD on 13E still freezes up immediately
Softcam fine on all BUT NOT on 23.5E
Plus a few other issues outlined both here & elsewhere by others!

Good to hear all is ok with your setup now us O.A.P do have are senior moments just like me!

Cheeky beggar!! lol!!!
However - here's more SERIOUS feedback for Phantom/TM:-

Just to confirm that I've been trying to record off Sly Sports 1 HD 28E on my TM6900HD Super on patch 756P tonight - and found that within 20 mins it goes very jerky - then freezes - so assume that if TM/Phantom can sort out THIS SERIOUS issue that maybe SCT HD (freezing) on 13E etc will also get sorted out too?
Tomorrow I will go back to patch 726P as I cannot afford to risk Sly HD on 28E constantly jerking/freezing up.neither for 'live' viewing nor for PVR recording from 7 day EPG!

Many thanks:respect-055:

Thanks to every concerned in respect of this updated patch, using TM6900HD Super+ I don't or have never experienced any issues with blind scan but please to read that after al this time Holmroad finally got this sorted.

CONFIRMATION NEEDED> Before I try & do something stupid can anyone confirm that the loader is required or not with this latest patch? I know holmroad loaded it anyway but knowing how the code/software is written I know that overwriting can cause bugs in the unit so if we could clearly define this matter it would be appreciated, perhaps holmroad could ask Phantom as this is a key point in the units function for the patch to perform correctly....until I get confirmation I wil stay with p755 which I know doesn't require the patch when loading....strange this is something that should of been clarified first before you guys set out testing the patch?

I guess no one has an answer on this as yet which leaves me to believe no one truly knows. Allow me just to confirm what could happen if a patch is written over an existing patch as an example but always remembering that a factory rest can cure the problem caused in this example:

Using specific tool editors such as Ultraedit proffessional the code is written in dual blocks with start code beginning say at 000000, lets say the patch has already contained the ADDON patch in example A as below:

A: ADDON correctly already implemented in patch example

000006 > 000000000000000000000000000000000 0 000000000010203040506070809AABBCC **** code emulation

Do you see whats happened? in A addon codes are on lines 0,1, 2, in B addon codes are 0,1,2, (original) + overwritten patch with addon lines 3,4, 5, thus now disabling the emulation & key for Irdeto provider.

This is only an example of what over writing a patch on top of a patch can do, it may not be emulation you overwrite but say something to do with other vital functions such as PVR or menu's hence this should not be taken for granted,. I hope this help make understand why you shouldn't do tests until you know 100% what your patching.

Yes I always do a factory reset that's not the issue but even if you do a factory reset then load the patch say 756 then the Addon patch on top when and I stress WHEN IT IS NOT REQUIRED my point is then it doesn't matter how many factory reset you do the errors I mentioned in the above will happen irrespectively if you truly understand the concept of programing & patching software.....hence my question ****>

Does Patch p756 already contain the addon or not within the patch?

Italtony
10-10-2013, 09:38 PM
Once add on is loaded it should never be needed to be loaded again.

Individual Addon file loaded + pxxx with addon included = creation of bug

You wil not know where the bug is or what bug over patching causes until it happens or you try something that normally worked and then it doesn't anymore much as I already described.

I wish someone would confirm if the addon is included in the latest patch or not, how hard can it be to answer yes or no?

Phantom did state a while ago that with the latest patches (including 756P) that you dont need lo load either the 'original' software as part of the load procedure OR the Add-on mate!:respect-055:
(However as 756P is allegedly based on 726P, then maybe both SHOULD be loaded?)

holmroad
11-10-2013, 12:07 AM
Well patch 755P DEFFO didnt need the Add-on OR the original software to be loaded, but as I said above 756P is SUPPOSED to be based on 726P, in which case the Add-on etc maybe SHOULD be loaded - however as manic01 says, once loaded they should both remain virtually 'forever' anyway!:respect-050:

Italtony

maybe SHOULD be loaded

Doesn't sound very convincing to me holmroad so I will not be loading this patch unless you have clear definition on this for all the reasons you know I mentioned. Of course p726 is one of the best and so far p755 wasn't entirely a disaster neither which I currently have loaded but I would be interested in trying the latest patch of course under the right & I might add correct condition. I don't want to sound to pessimistic but I just like things done correctly and professionally that's me out of my own personal choice.

When the channel list gets full all sorts of funny things happen = max no of channels approx 8000 on this model.
New patch is much more stable for me but if I stay on EPG channel for a long time e.g. 3 minutes it starts to reboot.
