newbie help with solo

been reading this other thread waiting for my solo to be delivered going to have a play with it when it comes so if i use the vix team as above i can do this with my usb stick is this right regards simon123

as with all vu images you take the the vuplus folder out
of the zipped folder you downloaded, and send that folder
to your memory stick, do not open the folders any further

for your information inside the vuplus folder is anouther folder that has uno/duo/solo or what box the image it's for on this folder. and when you send the vuplus folder to your usb stick it will show EG: the number files being transferred and this includes the two folders some images have four files, other images use more or less files

just copy the folder to the usb stick, the correct files are inside the folder

to flash a image you first turn the box off at the switch
then you put the usb stick in the front port and then turn
the box on again and follow the on screen info and when
it says finished reboot, take the usb stick out of the box port
and turn the box off at the rear again, give it a few moments
and turn on again,now the box will boot up on the new image
and you can then set it up with you tv settings ,satellites, motor
settings etc and if you dont have a channel list it will need a scan

just to add more help for you, you say you have ordered a vu+solo i take it you mean a solo2 if i'm right here is a utube on how to flash and set it up, this is more or less the same for the vu range of models

in my opinion your far better with a genuine box mate
and the vu models set up more or less the same, take
a look at that video it will give you a insight on how and
what to do

done that iv got it but what i want to no now how do i do the cam bit regards and thank u again the black hole has no cams so what do i use the vix has is it simpler to use the vix image and its an original v+ solo box should be hear on monday thow im at work

is the clines vo6 to fpt built in the vix image if not wear do i get them from im geting there

hi m8,
we can get to adding pluggins and skins etc: once you have
the basic's sorted like flashing a image setting the box menu's
tv and motor settings, loading cams and channel list
as for the vix image that does'nt have cams in the image
and you will find most images are the same, as you posted about the
blackhole image i posted the cams for that image for you, read the tutorials
on the forum and get as much info as possible, if your new to linux boxes they
can be a bit of a faff until you get used to all the ways of them. just remember
one thing ask before you do anything if unsure, it's easier to help than fix a box.
