Protek 9700 hd

Hi, went to put my protek on yesterday to watch the Arsenal game to find only two packages on the blue button rebooted a few times only the same, anyone know anything? Don't use it through the week just weekends so didn't see any changes any info would help thanks.

The info in the 2nd link is the most relevant to your situation, you would be better off going to the Protek Forum and seeing what the current situation with your 9700 receiver is.

Just had a look at the threads and looks like mine is 2010 model starts with a 0 serial number bummer:( so whats the next thing to do? Do i need another box or pay?

That query should have been made on the Protek Forum, as only the people concerned on that forum can answer that and advise you as what you have to do.

impossible to answer without knowing what sats you have access to, also you would have to decide if you want another box with a "gift" or one that does not have one and provide your own through private research

typically there will only be 3 bespoke single tuner boxes with a "gift"

the last two have 12 month "gifts" so you got your moneys worth at 3 years on your previous box and you are unlikely to repeat it !

no its not scrap, its still a box that can do what it was doing previously, what you have "lost" is the additional "gift" which is something that most box owners do not get from day one of their purchases

so you can either do the research on that forum aldo mentioned , or get a n line via google , or purchase a new box after deciding what your budget and priorities and requirements are (same as the rest of us have done)

I suspect I know why you only use it at weekends and that side has been tightened up a lot in the last few weeks and years so dont expect another 3 years "free motoring" , fuel costs money and ppv football does too ;)

I would suggest that you learn to read this forum, as you have been a member for 5 years, and should know how to do so by know, or visit the forum sponsors site( at the top of the page) and see what type of receiver meets your budget and your user knowledge.

Thanks for that just a bit out of touch since iv had no problems before with this box, haven't been on any forum since ************ went a few years ago so don't know whats what at the mo and don't mind paying to see what i like :respect-050:

maybe the problem here is that you havent spent enough time over the last 5 years actually researching the subject properly, or the problems associated with watching ppv channels you have not legally subscribed to, especially over the last 3 years since you bought your protek

therefore I am closing this thread as its no longer on topic and is heading into the realms of pay servers which is a banned topic on most forums including ours

you can freely discuss the topics regarding boxes and plugins and channel editors and any other technical issues associated with your box - old or new

BUT you cannot discuss a topic that allows you to watch channels with no valid subscription , neither in the past of the future

the point being that these are 2 separate and different issues and the vast majority of box owners buy an FTA box and then have to "make their own arrangements" (its not spoonfed to them like when they bought the new boxes I mentioned earlier (protek - spider-black panther). these "gift" boxes form a minority of sales and also consistently stop owners from learning the attributes of their boxes as they just switch them on and expect to watch anything and everything ad-infinitum (forever)

so please read the rules again before posting, thanks
