Is there a procedure for setting up XBMC on a laptop running windows 7, it is for a pal of mine who does not have a Sat receiver and would like to get some of the programs listed above, especially the films.

If I can just add it runs well on my Nexus 7 tablet, so that maybe an option.

I have quite a few Android devices - Moto G, Samsung Tab, Hp Touchpad & various TV boxes - all with XBMC.
To make it easier I use the DroidSticks Widget which downloads a fully loaded XMBC setup.
I then install the "Super Favourites" add-on. This is a powerful way to store all your favourite links from anywhere within XBMC into a structured system.
Next I add "Super Favourites" as the first item in the inbuilt favourites list.
Results in a very manageable powerful system.

I use my main TV's box (Ultra-M8) as the master for setting up my favourites.
Once happy with the setup I backup my "Super Favourites" and then restore onto my other devices.
"Super Favourites" has an inbuilt backup/restore.

It is becoming ever more obvious that streaming is the way forward.

Hi Billy long time no hear I am sure you are right this is the future of T V,I must ask you more about favorites, maybe if I post the query you might answer and others will know with your permission, regards Knacker

There is lots of info out there about Super Favourites.
The main trick of using it is to put the addon as the first item in XBMC's own favourite menu.
So when you click the favourite button and then OK you are straight into your own structured list.

Youtube has decent tutorials. Try searching...
[XBMC Addons] Super Favourites: Tutorial Guide

You can only link items already in your XBMC setup so having a decent amount of addons already in your system helps.

Have any questions let me know.
