Is it possible to change the name of a satellite? I tried it with dreamedit and with setedit. When using dreamedit I did not find a way to get the name changed at all. When using setedit I got the name changed on my desk top, but when I sent the settings back to the satellite receiver the new name of the satellite was note written into the satellite receiver. Instead the original name of the satellite appeared there again.

satellites.xml is where the names are stored.

If above method does not work try sending the edited satellites.xml to your box, then immediately do mains power off/on.

I edit satellites.xml with wordpad, just another way to do the same thing.

Hi Edgar
First use DCC to edit the satellite xml, file then copy it to etc/tuxbox also copy into your DreamBoxEdit channel folder then update the channels on to your box using DreamBoxEdit, then reboot.

If you need to change the name of a satellite in your user bouquets just right click on the name and rename.

Many thanks m8s. Your advice was a great help.
I changed the satellite names by using wordpad. In my opinion is this the simpliest way to do the editing.
