I can see that IPTV is becoming a big thing now, and it probably has been a big thing before. I don't understand how to make it work though. Does one need specialist satellite receivers or can one use their computer to watch IPTV channels; and if so how could one fix this and make it work on their computer.

Thanks in advance,
Dark

Just download and install the VLC player and google for streams (the VLC compatible channel lists usually end with*.m3u) but you can also find a standalone streams where you can copy the address and open it with the program. You can use the tried and tested streams from this link https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?165033-IPTV-%28files-only%29 (Aim for the latest posts as the streams expire in time, copy any channel address and paste to MEDIA->Open Network stream )But you need to download the player first. For the satellite box I would recommend SPiderbox6000 which would give you a IPTV and much much more at a really affordable price. You can also go for a ferguson Ariva range if you are on the budget but I would strongly recommend the Spiderbox for its continuous support and all the extras that you get with it.
*Note: Addresses from the above link are NOT all there is, we only supply the links that work with the spiderbox, if you google for the streams you may find a lot lot more that opens with a VLC player on your PC..
