need a lil help

hi all
I'm looking for a bit of help I've looked around the forum but haven't seen anything to help me (I think) my question is ,is there such a thing as a guide to help me make a truck map sd card for my go 720,any help appreciated.

You need a Truck version of Tomtom navcore & a suitable Truck version of the map. The ttsystem file will need patching unless you find a SE version & the map will need activating - there are several different tools that will do this for you.

thx for the help I have the patched version of 8.398 on the sd cardnow and when I put it in the tomtom seems to run ok starts up asking what i'm driving ect so seems ok just trying to figure out how to activate the map now the lil guide I got gave from a m8 is in bad English so not getting far lol but fingers crossed

never tried a truck map but the easy activator by albert usually does the job on normal maps

thx that seemed to work and it was easy enough to use as u said so now it'll ask me what i'm driving and I can load up the map I activated (euro truck 895.4448) but it's saying the map has no truck attributes ..... have i done something wrong or have i missed a file or something. again any help appreciated.

When you activated the map did you use both the me ta & tmeta ?? - I think it needs the tmeta activation for the truck features to be enabled ??

Here's another activation tool you can try - copy it to your tomtom & then use windows explorer to run it. Update the me ta file first.

thx all I used the me ta(is the space for search purposes?) that came with the map and the nav core I download them all together from a file sharer so it was ment to be the me ta for that map..... i'm downloading the map from the link above the nav core link won't work for me so i'll try to find it somewhere that I can but how can I tell if it was the correct me ta for that map?

I found those links work fine in freerapid downloader (a free downloader tool)

this forum puts the space in the me ta , so it should be all one 4 letter word, no space
or for tme ta its 5 letters - no space (as in tm*ta , replace the * with an e)

so when you highlight and copy the me ta , paste into notepad, remove the spaces in the two me ta names, then save

or if I tell you to replace the * with an e in m*ta

so its like me telling you to remove the space in Thug gy , to give Thuggy

the m*ta given for that map has the name in the top part , ie:- the version of the map it is for

cheers for taking the time to explaining it ..... the text that came with the download had over 5000 me ta's and I had assumed it was there for the same reason as u've said it usually comes with it or so I've seen it any that I've download in the last few days ,i'll try the stuff above and see how I get on... thx again

I went back and checked the text and it was there to match the map

The truck map needs both the me ta & the tmeta & both must be used during activation. If you have correctly activated the map you will see two extra .dct files in the map folder named like (or very similar to) this :-

Europe_TRUCK-860.me ta.dct
Europe_TRUCK-860.tmeta.dct

Use notepad & have a look at the me ta file info & see if you can find the correct me ta & tmeta for the map version you are using, if not there then you need to update it. You can edit it yourself & add the info from my earlier post above.

Aarrgghhhhh sorry about that, but the links I copied for you did not have any password with them, but I have asked for you, so will hopefully get a reply.

the password u found worked a treat ... I put everything together and used alberts easy activator and as u said earlier it's only creating the me ta and not the tme ta I also tried the other activator u gave me a link to but it won't even run just flings up the same fault can't find ttgo.bif/ttnavigator doesn't matter where I run it from,so again I find my self asking for help if u have any ideas it would be appreciated.

gents i'm just back to give u's a big thx that's it all up and running correctly,i download the lastest version of fast activate (the version dated 01-01-2014) and it created both .dct files so all looks good now .... again thx and i'm not finished messing bout with it yet so I could be back with more question lol
