Problem with card readers

Just had a VU+ Solo2 installed and set up by an engineer that recommended it to me, I have bought a redlight card (Viaccess) but when I put it in the card readers it doesn't open any channels. I was under the impression that the card readers were multi readers.

What do I need to do to get the card opening channels, in basic please as I don't know the first thing about all this

the card readers will probably need some form of emulator to get them working , like oscam or cccam or mgcamd etc

each of those emus is a subject in its own right, so as I do not have a via card I cannot advise you about it, but I do know that oscam is the preferred emu for most people with cards, but it needs setting up and running

in simple terms, putting a card in the slot is not going to "just work" - it requires the readers to be set up and active

it might help if you had mentioned what emus you have installed already ?
