hi guys when using recovery tool when states switch off then on to start recovery tool does this mean in to standbye or from switch at back ? MANY THANKS

switch at the back

so switch off means SWITCH OFF ! lol ;)

meaning , put the SWITCH in the OFF position

many thanks thought i had done it rightconnect null cable, off at the back switch,reciever was in stanbye when switched on from back , run download exe selected comm port 1 choose file switched on reciever from back but after download had finshed still had all channel settings ect so downloade didnt work doing some thing wrong

Whats wrong with your Spiderbox? Why are you using the recovery tool.? Your last post says its showing channel settings so its booting up.

thanks for reply guys problem with spiderbox had receiver for 3years or so been working fine then suddenly started showing flash artifats hd breaking up on even free channels thus been many sites and most have said common problem power supply capacitor probs but try recovery tool before trashing it thus tried it today but after recovery download still doing same as I am not up to changing sed capacitors even if new which once faulty going in bin but thanks all your replys guys

Ok, artifacts problems are likely power supply or graphics chip problem (providing you have a good signal) time to look for another Box.
The Recovery tool was only intended as a possible solution when the box sticks with F100 on the display and won't boot up past it.

Sometimes, some USB - Serial adapters work better than others.
Check the forum to see which one others have used.
