Hi Guys
I have recorded films on the hard drive on my Solo2.
But I now have an external drive and I would like to copy them onto it ( so I can put them on my Laptop )
I know I can do this with Fileziler but it is very slow. Is there a way I can
do a copy just using the Solo2.
Thanks.... Oxigen 1

I usually ftp from box to laptop or nas direct using flash fxp (or use filezilla or any ftp program)
my duo is ethernet connected , as is my laptop, so you are transferring at lan speed which is faster than usb
I suppose you will need a file manager on the box if you wish to just use the box to copy from internal hdd to external usb stick or hdd
I am thinking maybe tuxbox ?
or maybe a telnet command using a telnet session like in VuCC ?
my thoughts are that it must be slower to copy from the vu internal hdd to a usb device plugged into it, then from usb device to your laptop (again by usb) , so doubling the time taken
surely its quicker by lan using an ftp program to copy from the duo internal hdd direct to the laptop (or a nas) ?
using usb transfer (twice) seems a much slower method to me
have you thought this through I ask myself ?
