I've recently got one of these new re-branded Skybox FS3's to play with. AFAIAA it is not a clone.
It was very easy to set up and worked for a week without problem both on FTA and with Cccam. Blind scan was a bonus.
I happily changed channel lists and firmware via usb and got picons etc working nicely.
The problem all started when I edited the CCcam.cfg file and updated it via the LAN tool. After a reboot, the box crashed after about 30s to 60s. The picture just froze and the remote was completely unresponsive. I had to switch of at the back and reboot. Same problem again.
I noticed that when the LNB cable was disconnected the box worked OK (obviously no picture) but did not crash and I could access all menus. However, as soon as the LNB was reconnected the box crashed again. The same thing happened with two other dishes/LNBs connected so it is NOT a LNB cable short problem.
I've seen a post on another forum with someone having exactly the same issues. There was no fix reported there.
To attempt to fix the problem I have
1. Reflashed the box three times by rs232/null modem with different versions of firmware.
2. Factory reset numerous times.
3. Deleted CCcam.cfg.
4. Loaded three different channel lists
5. Changed the HDMI cable to component out
6. Swapped the PSU
7. Tried with and without USB stick inserted.
8. Tried with and without LAN cable connected.
I'm at my wits end as to what else I can. Any suggestions please?
