Hi,

I'm wanting to update my BH 1.7.5 image to BH 2.0.9 so that I can install the ondemand Plugin. I also want to save all my settings, channel lists etc.

Do I firstly backup my VU+Duo to my HDD using VUCC then install the new Image. then ftp the backup back to the VU+ Duo. I'm asking the question because I wasn't sure if the backup would include the Old image which would send me back to square 1.

Regards,

Dave

install automaticfullbackup and this will make a full backup of image and settings..Then can be flashed via usb should you need to go back to scratch

your old settings wont be compatible with the new v2 images

backup your cccam.cfg file using ftp and also anything else that is important (like backing your old channel list using dreamboxedit) and start from scratch after doing a full backup so you can restore your old image if you wish to from usb stick

so backup cccam.cfg file and any oscam config files etc

backup the old image

backup the old channel list using dreamboxedit

then all new :-

then install the latest image, install the latest E2 catseye channel lists and cccam and use your old cccam cfg file

so apart from any personal info, its start all over again as if the box is new but using the newer v2 files

Hi

Eventually got round to starting to upgrade my Vu but after downloading the latest DBox Edit I get the following message when I tried to FTP the channel lists etc. :-

"Connected.
Dreambox response: Login successful.
** Retrieving file list of "/var/tuxbox/config/enigma/" **
Starting FTP transfer
Transfer complete
** Retrieving file list of "/var/tuxbox/config/enigma/" **
Starting FTP transfer
Transfer complete
Neither a "services" nor a "lamedb" file was found in directory "%" on the Dreambox. /var/tuxbox/config/enigma/
Check the dream path settings on the option panel to point to the correct Dreambox directories and try again.
Disconnecting.
Disconnected."

When I checked in the designated directory nothing had been transferred. Am I missing something in perhaps the program settings??
Services and Bouquet files= "/var/tuxbox/config/enigma/
User Bouquet Files= "/var/tuxbox/config/enigma/

Satellites .xml file= "/var/etc/

Regards

Dave

Try a different Dreambox edit. I use a version that says IHAD edition - no idea what that means, but it works.

The paths look strange to me, but that will depend on the image you use. I don't like "/enigma/" - I would expect /enigma2/

Cheers Burnam,

Changed the settings in DB Edit to enigma 2 and it's OK

Hi Another question,

Does anyone know what the yellow lock symbols are to the left of the list of channels in Dream Box Edit?
