I got my box last August and played around with the Vix and Blackhole images, before settling on Vix.
Haven't touched it since then & thought about bringing it up to date to the latest version, or even playing around with Blackhole again.
A few questions:-
If i re-flash with Vix will I lose all plugins/settings etc - so does that mean I will have to install everything from scratch?
Will I have to setup the tuners/satellites again?
I notice there's a 'software update' button in the Vix menu - does that do the re-flash or am I better off doing it via USB?
Thanks.

i always keep a full back from my vu that can be reloaded via usb
if any new image is'nt what i wanted or gives any problems, next
you can update your image version via the receiver menu
and you wont loose any settings on your box, but if a new
image comes out, the info will state if it can only be loaded
via usb flash, and if you do re flash any image with a usb stick
it will clear all your settings from the previous image set up
that is why you should keep a copy of your chn list and cccam cnf
on your computer to load back after the new image is flashed
but if the vix image is your favorite and you have the latest one
loaded there is no point in re flashing the same image version and
using the receiver server to update the software is all you need to
keep everything up to date

Looks like i'll have to do it sooner rather than later!
I was updating the chan lists & I had a look at the 'software update' menu. For some reason all it wants to do now is 'boot' to a black screen with an error, then reset itself. It just keeps doing this in a loop.
So i'll put the latest VIX onto USB and take it from there and hope it fixes it.
I have a backup of a few things on my pc so that shouldn't be a prob - I was just a bit concerned about setting up the sat's/tuners again as I had this done when I had the motorised dish fitted and the installer did it.

for diseqc 1.2 setting set the tuner to advanced and
set and number each sat you want on you list
if you use usuals then you set the tuner to simple
and the mode to positioner and enter your long/lat
settings on the panel and click to save
take a look in the menus first and write down the info
to make it quicker and easier re reset up

Thanks.
It seems to have gone ok, and it also found a settings file I did a few weeks ago which i'd forgotten about.
Not installing any plugins at the moment as i've been having a few probs with the box (picture going 'green' then going off/back on) and want to see if updating the image irons things out.
Thanks again for the help.
