I am experiencing a problem with this receiver locking up occasionally.
Each time, for no apparent reason it locks up as 7.2W and screen shows no signal irrespective of what satellite you are watching! It has happened 3 times, twice on my neighbours set and once on mine.
No matter what you do, the only way to clear it is to factory reset.
Why both receivers should lock on 7.2W is puzzling. They are both motorized, each having different motors. I am sure it is not patch related because my box locked using the latest patch, whereas the neighbours was using the previous patch . Has anyone had this problem or offer a suggestion as to why
this may be happening?

I have posted this problem on the Spiderbox Forum but have not received any response so far. Can anyone on this forum throw any light as to what might be causing this problem?

This is just a suggestion, and may not be the cure, but could it be that you are both using the same channel list, and that the list may be corrupted, it could even be just one channel/transponder on that Sat that is causing the receivers to lock up.

no idea apart from make sure you havent used up all the channels and transponders that you are allowed (stay within the limits)

Which channel is it defaulting to when moving to 7.3W? Try deleting the first channel, in the list, on 7.3W.

Thanks to you all for the feed back. It could be the file list! The list is home made and I use it to update both mine and my neighbours! I will try a list off the forum if and when it occurs again. The lock up occurs when on different satellites and channels. The strange thing is why it chooses 7.2W to lock up to. In case there is a problem with 7.2W data transmission I am going to delete this satellite off our lists! I can always watch 7.2W on my 7000/9000 receivers!

You could edit your channel list on your PC, deleting which ever channels on the TP that is causing the lock-up, then reload your amended list, and if you wish you could scan the TP that you deleted to get those channels back again.

Thank you Aldo for that suggestion. I will bear it in mind. For the time being I am taking particular note of how I use and change channels in case it locks up again. I have also asked my neighbour to do the same, in the hope we can find out what is causing this problem. As I have now deleted 7.2W from my channel list for this receiver it will be interesting to see which satellite it locks to if and when it happens again.

Some of these posted channel lists pack the memory to the limit, if you don't sub the list down the box runs badly, my 9000 when it gets near its capacity starts to play up a lot.

Delete the channels from the sats you don't use and everything runs smoothly again.
