Afternoon peeps

right, i should be finally moving home over the next couple of months and will be going from a south facing front to a due south facing rear :D this means i can finally look at getting a bigger dish than my current 80cm.

My first question - will there be much difference in the amount of channels i can pick up from east to west between a 1m and a 1.1m, will the extra 10cm make a big difference if any? i'm in N/W england and will have a perfect line of sight from at least 45e to 30w and beyond.

Question no 2 - T K or L bracket? currently using an L bracket, went up with ease and seem to have an excellent arc although some people state that using TK brackets are better. what are the pro's and cons?

thanks in advance.

Bigger and the higher up the better, especially if you are going to be going for feeds. A wall mount for 1.0M dish will need around 500mm clearance. I use an 'L' shaped as well but mine has about 600mm or perhaps 550mm, can't remember now. I personally wouldn't stick anything bigger on a wall.

T-K brackets are stronger as they have 2 fixing points, less likely to fail and much easier to adjust for "plumb"

I would advocate T-K brackets and some scaffold pole , with inverto ultra lnb

a 110 cm dish is ideal although a 1 metre dish may also be fine , especially for most sats we get in the uk

heihgt is not an issue apart from making sure people dont bang their heads on the metalwork, unless there are trees or walls close by

a ground mounted dish is as good as one up a wall if no obstructions are in the way

cheers fellas, the new house has a perfect line of sight, house sits quite high with around a 200ft rear garden, the only trees are at the bottom of the garden so should be all good. Initially I thought about getting a 1m. Just don't want to regret not getting the extra 10cm (1.1 will take a bit extra to convince the missus!)

will keep ya's posted with what I finally chose ;o)
