If it's on FTA channels then try another image, or re-flash the receiver, if it's on subscription channels then the problem is probably down to the server you are using.
What image are you using?
Has this started happening since you installed any addons or plugins or has it always happened?
Does this happen on FTA channels, on all satellites, or just subscription channels?
Does this happen on Standard Definition channels, and High Definition Free to Air channels?

yes i found out that not all channels block
some are on lower % and are excellent .

this was blocking on Sky Select HD Germany
excellent picture ,then it started blocking

using black hole 2.1.0
just reflashed the receiver ,but it seemed to do it most of the time
some channels on 28.2 do it aswel ( bt sport hd )

would a bigger dish make it better ,or is it something else ( like you say ,server )

Sky Select is a pay to view channel unless you're a genuine subscriber then it will be down to the server, a bigger dish will not help with this problem as you state that other channels, with lower signal quality, work perfectly.
You can have to strong a signal, that will produce similar results, but I think this is down to your method of viewing, i.e. subscribing to a server.
Check al FTA channels, if these do not have any blocking then you know where the problem probably lies.
For any signal problems we need to know the channels, and satellites, you're having problems with, your general location, e.g. South West England, size of dish, which you have mentioned, and signal readings.

Don't know about 36E, or 45E, but you should easily get 42E and 30W, assuming you are in the UK.
Are you using USALS to drive your motor? Check you have the correct latitude, and longitude, entered, negative longitude readings = West positive = East.
Go to your nearest True South satellite, this is the one closest to your Longitude reading, then check the signal quality readings, or SNR, on 0.8W, 5E, 7E, 9E, 13E 16E, 19.2E, 23.5E, 28.2E, 39E, and 42E, then do the same for the strongest Westerly satellites, 5W, 12.5W, 22W, and 30W, check lyngsat.com for the strongest transponders.
Can you please psot your general location.

You might want to edit your post, or if it's too late get a mod to do it for you, as you don't really want to post your exact location.
Are you getting all the East satellites? What about the West satellites?
Try 12690 V 27500 on 5W, 12595 H 1875 DVB-S2 8PSK 3/4 on 12.5W, 11675 V 27500 on 24.5W and 12731 V 27500 on 30W.
Can you please report some of the signal quality readings on various satellites.

5 west perfect 69% signal
12.5 west ,nothing 16% signal
24.5 west no signal

looking at it
anything past 5 west there might be a tree or fence in the way in the way ( about 10feet away though )
but i used to get 30west .good picture
so dont understand that at all

4.8 east 91% signal
10 east 72%
13 east good
19 east good 88%

so really its just the glitching on 19east which could be the server you said
and the fact that it could be fence or tree anything west

5 West is low, as well, it should be a lot higher. Either your dish isn't tracking the arc correctly or the signal is being partially blocked, by trees, or a building.
Check dishpointer.com, type in your postcode, zoom in on the map, to where you have your dish located, and move the green icon. Select a Westerly satellite, from the drop down box, like 12.5W, then click on the show obstacle, line of sight checker, and move the red icon to where the obstacle might be. It should then provide an approximate clearance height.

Mickha

i am still having problems with this dish

does this show good for clearance

thought the dish was off a bit so used my satlink meter to get a better signal

now cant get anything west at all

even though when the dish moves to 30west it says 81% signal but no picture on any channel

any ideas

i did notice though that when the dish was on thor 0.8 west ,when i moved it to 30west
it was not spot on 30west ,just after it

what would be causing that ?

Mickha

Those trees look a bit big, compared to the houses, the reading states that clearance should be 4.3M, but you can lower that by how high your dish is situated. But I'm guessing that these trees have grown, since the photo was taken.
How far off 30 West was the dish?
It could be that your latitude, and especially longitude, aren't quite right or it could be your motor, check the sensor isn't faulty or needs replacing.
You can cure this by slightly adjusting your longitude reading or switch to Diseqc 1.2 and manually store the satellite positions, where they give the strongest signal quality readings.

You need to EDIT your post #8 and remove the photo. It contains enough info to lead someone to your doorstep. (post code)

can you remove the pic for me please ,dont know how too

the trees have been there since the dish was put there .used to get good signal then and just recently aswel
cant understand though why it moves to 30west then shows 80% signal but no picture on anything
any chance you can give me a little walkthrough of how to set the positions manually
then i can see if i can cure the 30 west problem and others
also
have the new software on the box blackhole 2.1.0
used to have 2.0.8 on it
went to revert back to earlier version and it kept crashing and would not install it
should i be worried ?

Mickha

I would try formatting your USB stick, in FAT 32, then try loading Black Hole 2.0.9, or download 2.0.8 again, after deleting the old file, on your PC.
It takes a mod, or admin, to edit your posts, why not PM Echelon, I'm sure he would remove, or edit, the posts for you.
Are you sure you are on 30W, when you get 80% SNR?
Try manually scanning in some FTA, Free to Air, channels, on 30W:
10890 V 27500
11811 V 27500
11884 V 27500
12092 V 27500
and please make a note, of any channels found, and post them on here.

right .

re flashed the receiver with the 2.0.9 software
all went in working ok

previously set the dish at thor 1 west

bbc hd is at 85%
bbc world is at 63% :frown:

then i sent the dish to 30 west ,and it says 74% no picture

looked at the dish and this is where it stopped

60853

think there is definatly something wrong
as all settings are correct
will try and move this manually
and will also check some east satallites

but i think the motor is boned

Mickha

Have you tried scanning in a few channels?
I wonder if you have a West limit set, so that the dish has reached this and stopped. If you can scan in a few channels, and post them, we might be able to discover if you are on 30W, or another satellite, by checking on lyngsat.com.

turbonetuk
09-06-2014, 12:24 PM
scanned a few of the channel numbers you posted

nothing

going to see if i can switch off the motor and move it to 30 west myself
see if the receiver picks anything up

i have a feeling the motor is playing up
so its going to be pointless setting up anything else

Mickha
09-06-2014, 12:35 PM
Before you reset the motor can you please try doing a blind scan, on the satellite listed as 30W, and see what channels come up.
Alternatively check lyngsat.com, click on the Satellites, Atlantic, 0W to 61W, link then check a few of the westerly satellites, for frequencies you might be receiving.

with them signal strengths you should be getting a picture on a solo2 .
providing you can clear them if encrypted.
