Hi All
I have been trying to create .ipt files with wordpad but always end up with a text file. I found a link on here going to a blank .ipt file so I could paste my url to it but was denied access.
My laptop is also incapable of opening existing .ipt files
Any help would be gratefully appreciated

You can save a notepad file as practically anything you want. Go to File, Save As, then click on the drop down box, on the Save as Type bar, and select All Files, then name the file .ipt

Use Notepad ++ the main reason is it makes the files more readable in a nice layout. To get windows to open .ipt file right click on file then open with option then if given choice choose notepad/notepad ++ or you might have to navigate to where they are installed.

all laptops are capable of doing this task , including yours
blame the owner, not the machine , as not using notepad or notepad ++ is what is causing this and is down to basic training in the use of windows programs and associations , so it is the owner not doing this task correctly, not the laptop itself , that is causing these problems
as mentioned above, install and use notepad++ , and learn to use the pc tools correctly (not just relying on double clicking)

Or use a wordpad... If you are having problems creating a file from scratch just grab any .ipt file that was posted in here, open in wordpad, get rid of its contents and paste your own lines in it, then save. If you want to name it different than the name given by its maker, just right click on it and select rename (name it whatever you wish, the extension .ipt will remain intact).
