I have my spiderbox running on USALS, but I can't figure out how to set it up on DiseqC1.2
I've notised that, on weaker transponders on some satellites, if I go "Position (Step)" tweak it and "Store", I can get a better signal, but then when I exit Motor has changed to "NONE".
I don't understand what "Unicable" is, has that anything to do with it?
Thanks in advance for any help

Unicable is an LNB standard and has nothing to do with USALS or Diseqc 1.2, Someone more familiar with your receiver should be able to advise you if you can use Both USALS and 1.2 on different satellite positions i cannot see why not

Unicable lets you connect multiple receivers( four if memory serves me right) using a single cable run from your dish (you need a lnb capable of doing this tho) . YOu would just connect a splitter before the receiver and run the cable to another and so on ( up to four boxes).. (or use the function on two twin tuner stbs) It lets you set a different frequency for any of the four receivers so all four can use the same cable. (you just connect them in the simmilar way you used to connect old type television ( T splitters )

diseq1.2 means you must steer the dish to each satellite and save it. When you are in usals and you tweak dish you cant store it. The store facility is for diseq1.2. But you can tweak in usals by altering the longitude and latitude ever so slightly until signal improves.

I understand what you are saying, but how do you set it up to use diseqc1.2 without the motor reverting to NONE.
In the meantime I will try the "alter the longtitude" route.

Hi
Simple, with Diseqc1.2 you have to give it a Satellite 'Position' number before storing each Satellite in the Satellite settings menu.
Also each Satellite to be stored needs to be ticked in the left side column.

If I remember correctly.
Once on satellite, change to diseqc in menu then store otherwise will revert to usals if using 6000 spider.

That's the bit I'm confused about. I can't see the option of changing to diseqc in menu. It's either "diseqc/USALS" or "none"

Hi
'diseqc/Usals' selection is used for both and is changed in the 'Mode' option, ie 'Position' and 'Position step' is for diseqc and 'Go to Satellite' is for Usals.

Thanks for the clarification jbvid. I understand now.......but........
When I go to "position" I tune a satellite in, give it a number and save it, and do the same with other satellites, but if I revert to USALS (in order to find a satellite) when I go back, the postion numbers have gone.
I know all boxes are different, but on my sb9000 it was easy to go from diseqc to USALS.
It probably is on this box as well, but I can't get my head round it at the moment, more help required please.
I have altered my longitude slightly which has sorted that problem at the moment (obvious my dish isn't quite spot on)
Another reason for wanting to use diseqc1.2 is that my motor runs smoothly on diseqc unlike on USALS which makes it stop/start a lot between satellites.

Hi
Then don't revert back to Usals, I'm 99% sure mix and match won't work on a 6000hd (anyone?)
ie Usals or diseqc, one or the other, its up to you.

Hi
l use disq via my v box on my Georgian 1.2 dish
set up and save each satellite with settings on disq set a no and save as others have said
leave settings for EACH satellite on disq do not change back to usals mine works perfectly
only problem l have found that if you load a new channel list or new software
you loose or your sat positions and have to reload every sat again
so its important to make a note of your chosen number for each satellite as then when you have to
reload your sat position you just have to go into each sat change to disq enter number you have made a note of and go to save and save
Would be nice if it was possible in any new software it was possible to not change from disq to usuals if you have selected disq over usauls
Also note if you save your settings to usb every thing reverts back to usuals if you reload your settings you have saved and you have to reset each sat again
Please l am not complaining as this box is brilliant just mentioning as it might help others with setting up in disq

I've just had another go at setting up in diseqc but finding it virtualy impossible to do on all 28 sats I have without being able to move the dish to the sat position to be able to tweak it in diseqc.

Quote. "Also note if you save your settings to usb every thing reverts back to usuals if you reload your settings you have saved and you have to reset each sat again"

I don't agree with that. I've just tried doing it with a couple of sats that I changed to Diseqc and I find that it DOES save the setting as diseqc.

Usuals finds sats but does not store them.

Diseqc will find and store sats.

You mentioned that your dish is not spot on it is best to use Diseqc not Usuals.

Look for a list of sats which has the strongest transponders.

It will save whatever you set them to.
Go to each sat in usals and then set to diseqc.

I've tried that. It doesn't work.
Example, If I go in USALS to 28E then change to Diseqc and save, thats fine, but if I then go to 19E using USALS then change to diseqc and save, thats OK, but 28E is no longer saved in diseqc.

I use diseq and when you find a sat you have to do it manually and than store it in on number for motor position!

Well I've done it. Trial and error, just guessing where sats were and tweaking them in. It wasn't made any easier because the signal meter not being very responsive, after moving dish one click I have to wait until signal bar thinks about it before responding.
After all that work I was disapointed to discover that my motor dosen't move smoothly in diseqc. I thought it would. (Still stops and starts) But hey.........
