hi all is it possible to record the v o d films thanks

If its the IPTV VOD films then no, you cannot.
If its the OTA Vod from the likes of Primafila etc. I just tried to record a primafila movie and it records and plays back no problem.. ALso tried to record the VOD movie from Polsat (HOtbird 10758v) and it records but I cant get the box to play it back (it records and plays but Its stuttering on playback)

I record iptv through my sony hd970 on problems, record to hdd then copy to disc to take on my holiday.
