JSTV conax on Spiderbox 6000 HD

My Technomate 5402 appears to have blown up during a thunderstorm. I am considering replacing it with a Spiderbox 6000 HD. The receiver will really only be used to watch Japanese JSTV which uses a conax card and record the same channel. Will the Spiderbox allow me to watch JSTV and will it record decoded channels, my Technomate would not?
