Well, after years of using only plug and play boxes (Spiders), I've taken the plunge and got myself a VU+ solo 2 (from Lee) It came with VIX pre-installed so that's saved me a lot of work.
I've managed to rearrange some of my channels and have managed to enter my N: and C: and get them working, so I'm getting there slowly, but a long way to go Im sure.
My next job is to try and configure my 2 dishes through AB switch with 1 cable to stb. Stand by for silly questions.
I'm Still using my SB6000 for IPTV. Is there something similar for VU+?

I'm struggling to set my 2 dishes up, 1 motorised (LNB1) and 1 fixed dish on 28E (LNB2) with one cable going to tuner A. Can someone help me with correct settings please, where am I going wrong.

you lost me there m8

either you have 2 cables , or 1 cable

ideally you have 2 cables , one cable to tuner A, the second cable to tuner B , one of them is motorised, one is fixed

I omited to say, "through a diseqc switch". 1 cable running from switch to tuner A.

ok, so you are using it in single tuner mode (or second tuner based on the first with throughput)

so the diseqc switch is either 2 way or 4 way (I would think)

so is it Input A or 1 as motor on the switch ? and Input B or 2 as the fixed dish ? with say 3 and 4 unused ?

then the common cable going to the Tuner A of the solo 2 ? (nothing to tuner B)

Yes, it's 2 way switch, input 1 to motor and 2 to fixed, and cable to tuner A (nothing to B)

well, cant say on the vu but on my spider 7000 I have similar except my sly dish is on 3 (or C) so B and D not used

so you have to set (on the spider) all sats except 28.2e to use diseqc 1 or A (commit = 1 and sometimes uncommit = 1) to use the motor in usals (or diseqc v1.2 mode) plus telling it to use 1-0 or 1-1 in simple diseqc etc

again on the spider you would set diseqc 2 (or B) to 28.2e - again commit = 2 and sometimes uncommit = 1 in simple diseqc etc

so effectively you are using a combination of simple diseqc for 1 and 2, and the usals motor on 1 for all sats except 28.2e which is on simple diseqc 2 making is use the second input on the switch for sly, but making it use option 1 for everything else

now assuming that is understood and works, you are somehow trying to replicate it on the vu , BUT I have no idea if you can do so

the simplest method would be motorised on tuner A on the vu, and fixed dish 28.2e to tuner B on the vu , replacing the single coax with a shotgun , and separate cables for each tuner

that way the tuner A gets 28.2e (and all the others) from the motor, and tuner B gets 28.2e all the time

I had this set up with my Spider 9000, worked ok, (had trouble on 6000). It must be possible to do it on a VU+, but as you can see from the attachments in post #2 there is a lot of settings to get right.
I'll probably end up buying some more coax and doing as suggested.

I found that when I borrowed and tried a 6000 recently it didnt work , even though I tried all the settings the same as on my 7000 (in tandem from 7k to 6k) , it only liked motorised, or simple diseqc , but not a combination of the two

never tried it on a vu so cannot help there , but yes my method (and yours) works on a 9000 and on a 7000

the trick is to tell the box to use option 1 for the motor, then it commands the motor, so its a double setting for that

it also has to tell it to use option 2 in your case to use the fixed dish instead of the motor , useful on a single tuner box I agree

I definitely think you are better going with the other option of motor on tuner A and fixed dish on tuner B for your solo 2, replacing the single coax with a shotgun

unless somebody else knows how to do this trick on the vu ?

Slightly off topic but also remember that due to a hardware limitation on the solo2, you can not use loopthrough from tuner A to tuner B, to use loopthrough you must do it from tuner B to tuner A.

Does that mean if I get things working with 1 cable, it would be better to use tuner B ?

Went with Echelons suggestion and have bought and installed another length of coax. Motorised dish on tuner A, and fixed dish on tuner B.
Working fine.............:D

It's usually easier than you think, and once done you will soon get the hang of it.
Which CCcam files have you loaded? 214, 221, or 230? You can load all of them, if you want, but I tend to stick to 214 and 221.
You can find them here:
https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?142280-VuPlus-Community-Black-Hole-Image-EMU-S

You do not unrar them but transfer them to your tmp folder, using FileZilla, or other FTP program.
You then activate them by selecting them in your VU+ receivers menu, press the green button followed nby the yellow biutton and manually install BH cams.
Once done you press the Blue button, use the left/right arrow buttons, to select 221, then press OK.

Can you please post how much of this you have already done.
