I think I know the answer to this question, but I'll post it anyway.

Is it necessary for the receiver to have a CAM module to be able to enter the BISS codes?
I recently bought a Grundig SMART tv which is capable of receiving satellite signals. It receives the available FTA channels off the SKY platform and seems to be a little more sensitive than my Skybox(Amstrad).
There is a slot for a CAM module but I am not sure if this is needed, if so which CAM is required?
What do other people have in their receivers?

Which BISS encrypted channels are you trying to view?
Where is your general location?
What size satellite dish do you have, and which satellites can you get?

my location is about 90 miles northwest of Stockholm. Like everybody else I lost the Freesat channels of the SKY platform.
I invested in a 150cm gibertini but it did not help.
I read about the BBC Satback on Intelsat 907 and am trying to get as much information possible before I erect a new dish installation.
It is after all only about 20 channels in all.
The rest of the Sky packages not on the UK spotbeam are working fine.

Personally I never watch any British television and I live in the UK, so I have'nt even tried the ones on 27.5W.
There is quite a thread, on the subject, and discussions, on the forum, regarding problems, with some receivers:

Hopefully someone who has tried these channels can help you.
