I was going to say try a few times or look at recovery film again ? if you thought it was RS232 then try https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?165653-Recovery-problem-with-6000HD and https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?165648-recovery-check-this
But since you fixed it please don't be shy and tell us how you did it?

Friend brought his box. It had developed error for two times in couple months he had it, just after he changed scart setting seems. He gets only sound and a message on screen says:

"Recording Error
This program is not allowed to be recorded E 51"

I was connecting fine to box with hyperterminal, but when get the three options at boot:

1. Upgrade Application with FUM
2. Upgrade Application with Xmodem
3. Leave and Continue boot

It let me select 2, but after selection box just carries on with existing boot loading and won't stop to let load recovery file. To fix, and stop this happening, I tried many things. In end, a little cyber violence worked. I closed hyperterminal from task manager. When I start it again, it finally allows me to load recovery file and doesn't continue with existing boot like before.
