My 'main' setup is a Vu+ Uno connected via HDMI to a Sony a/v amp that then goes off to my 51" Samsung TV (which may I add I know supports 1080p). However when I install any of the images BH, Openpli, Openvix etc I never get an option for 1080p, just 1080i plus the other rewsolutions. Now I know it isn't a show stopper but last night I was playing with (and I will whisper this in case I'm talking about a clone) a Cloud ibox 2 plus receiver which was directly connected via HDMi to a Sony 32" TV. When I ran the setup for this there was an option for 1080p as well as 1080i.
My question is - should a Vu+ Uno be showing an option for 1080p?

The hardware of all Vu+ models does not support 1080p. This limit is imposed by the chipsets being deployed. This is also the case for all Dreambox models or anyother STB available today by my knowledge.
Any reference to 1080p support refers to capabilitries to play such content via downscaling to 1080i output.

I have my VU+ Duo2 set to 1080p, running Black Hole 2.1.1.
Just checked, in the menu, Setup, System, AV Settings.
Whether it really is 1080p is another matter, and would anyone really notice much difference? Personally I can't spot much difference between SD and HD, especially given that we are relying on the program makers, which is mostly American, and given the programs, I mainly view, are quite old, 70's onwards, and not the latest films, which I find of poor quality, not in picture standards, or special effects, but in actual content.
1080p is available on Vu+ Solo-SE, Vu+ Solo2 and Vu+ Duo2 models.
1080i is available on the rest of the older Vu+ range.
