Hi
Have an orignal Vu+Duo, and last night I installed Open Pli ver 4, Kernel ver 3.1.1
I am not a fan of XMLTV, as the EPG is ****e to be honest, with all due respect to Mr Rytec.
When I try to set up Open TV 28.2 In Cross EPG, it refuses to go to the radio channel, to download the EPG stream.
It runs for 2 seconds, and finishes!
I have installed the Ribcurl dependancies, as suggested, but to no avail.
Cross EPG 0.8.1 is part of the new Image, so it won't let me install ver 0.6.2 which was working perfectly fine before.

Not much help on the OpenPli Forum.

Any advice would be great please.

Cheers in advance..

try deleting your crossepg folder on your storage device, usb or hdd (whatever you have selected)
then run it again

Thank you kind Sir, but already done.
Will try putting the box to sleep via Telnet, and doing that again .Pli is the best out there in my opinion, so I dont want to scrub it.
If no joy, i'll try the latest nightly build from their site. Lol
Cheers.
Will report findings later.

Are you sure youve installed curl correctly ?

Telnet in and type

opkg install curl and then hit enter

Then reboot.

I also trust its all setup correctly from within the Crossepg menu ?

ie correct download location ect

Ian.

Hello Ian.
Yep.
Open TV provider saved, and USB Configured.
No, I did not Telnet.
I just installed curl by putting the ipk in var/tmp, and installing from the box via the remote.
What a tart :-(
Will do that shortly bud.
Thanks for that.

Hi Ian.

Just done that, and saw the commands running in telnet.
All sweet now.
Was getting a NIM error msg.
I only use 1 tuner, so I disabled the other.
What a star you are.
Cheers again.

Hmmmm, won't save to the USB that it's assigned to, but i'll mess with that a bit later :001_302:

Is all ok now.
Reformatted the USB.
Getting all the correct EPG descriptions also.
Always better to sniff the EPG stream from source.
Cheers again:respect-053:

Hi mate.
I know it's an old post, but I did exactly what you said, and bingo.
Installed telnet for windows 7
What a star, as always :-)
Been working so hard for my firm, had no time whatsoever to play!!!
7 days a week.
Took today off LOL
This was always an issue on the Vu+, and DM800 SE

Its an image fault rather than anything to do with the hardware

Massive problems again.
Hours, and hours.
Cannot install curl, cannot satisfy dependencies!!!!!!
Uninstalled, reinstalled cross EPG, nothing works.
I really don't get this.
It worked on other boxes!!!!!!!!
At the end of my tether with this **** now!!!

One could always use XMLImporter (EPGImporter) instead or XEPG.

I tried that One, but cheers mate.
Nice Avatar :-)
Cross EPG is more slicker if I can get it to work.
It's a Pli thing!!
I'll use what you suggest if no joy

the above comments are to do with openPLI images

nothing to do with openVIX images

the devil is in the detail

openVIX already comes with crossepg and just needs you to set it up

reflash it and start again , also reformat the usb stick in the rear slot using the box itself , as described in the tutorials
