How do I go about changing satellte details? I want to change Nilesat/Eutelsat 7W to 7.3W. I know I can't pick up Nilesat(7W) but I can pick up some of Eutelsat(7.3W)

Just to add, I'm using Catseye channel list 75E-60W

You haven't mentioned which image you're using. Check for a motor settings, or Usals, might be under tuner options.
Are you using Usals or Diseqc 1.2, to move your motor?

You need to edit your satellite.xml file found in /var/tuxbox

If I go to var/tuxbox/satellite, it opens a XML do***ent. How do I edit that?

I'm on Vix apollo 037.

Notepad or word pad. FTP it onto your desktop, edit the 7w entery with 7.3w and cut n paste the relevant transponders in. You also need to take care to edit the leading entry. So it goes from:

<sat name="7.0W Nilesat 102/201 Eutelsat 7 West A" flags="0" position="-70">

To

<sat name="7.3W Nilesat 102/201 Eutelsat 7 West A" flags="0" position="-73">

You can of course name the sat whatever you wish.

Thanks Sawdust. Did that, using notepad++ and FTP'd it back to "satellites" but it didn't change. Still showing 7.0W. I must have done something wrong.

Correction, I found when I went into "Sat finder" it had change it, although it still shows as 7.0W in satellite list.

Once you have changed it you should find that the old position is no longer stored as the old settings are no longer there. Make sure you do a hard reset then store the new position.
Don't forget though you may have to also edit the channel listing settings with dreamboxedit so they match the xml file settings you just changed. Or they will be greyed out when you scroll through the listings.
