I am trying to change from OpenPli to Vix but the box starts up (Black Hole logo for a couple of seconds > quick flash of Pli > black screen for a few seconds > OpenPli start screen (the one with the various photos)) and it just sticks there. the box was sold as genuine. I have changed the images before with no problems. Have tried with 3 different usb (one or more which have been used to flash images before to this box) I have formatted the sticks to Fat32, popped one in the front usb socket but each time the box ignores the stick. Even tried renaming the solo2 to solo still did not help.

Anyone any ideas, can the image be installed via serial from the pc ? I have saved the Crow and the Technomate this way

You've done just about everything I would have done. You say you have popped stick in the front USB. Have you also tried the rear ones?

Have you tried taking the hdmi out and flashing or even the main feed cable? I've heard that works sometimes although I have nevr done it myself. Also what image was on the box originally and did you happen to know which Kernel it had clone boxes will not work with any kernal over 3.12.

You might need to disconnect the internal hard drive, if you have one fitted, this can sometimes cause a problem.

Pointless flashing VIX Image atm
feeds are currently offline

Mickha has a valid point dissconnect the HDD first before Re: flashing any image as you may have an image backup on your HDD thats conflicting the Image update Procedure

It may be worth while trying openatv-4.2-vusolo2

uploaded it here for you Graham

heyho - tried it in one of the rear ones with the same outcome (people have posted that only the front usb is for flashing)
cannydo - I'm sure it was Black Hole , don't know which Kernal - but the box was sold to me as genuine
Mickha - no internal hdd fitted
COMPASS - will download and let you know
By the way lads (and lasses) thanks for all your help now and with my problems in the past

Going by this h**p://vuplus.com/pressNewsContent.htm?idx=82 the box is genuine not cloned (not that that helps - but still)
will let you know what (if anything) happens - tried it without the line in, same

I once had bother trying to put an image on with varies sticks on a clone box mind you. Turned out none of the sticks would work because they were all 8gb I went down to a 2gb and it worked worth a try.

thanks COMPASS - just ftp'd the cccam back in (cannot try it yet as the better half is asleep on the settee - she had a small operation this morning) I've saved the files for the urs & etc from before. I am really chuffed that you put me on to this image as it was a lot easier to put on TSmedia, OnDemand & xbmc as well as some football stuff, they were already in the image to be installed - a lot easier than Black Hole or OpenPli.
Thanks again mate , you are a star.
