Hi everyone,
Is there a way of finding if a TP is active or not. I'm looking to make my own favorites list, but its such a long winded process deleting individual channels.
Cheers,
Tim.

If you use the channel editor to edit your channel list the dead TP's will be in Red the active will All be Black, you can also use it to get rid of all the regional channels on 28.2 east BBC, ITV etc, from them on you can delete all of the channels you cannot not clear or foreign language channels etc.

Just to add what I posted above, when you open the channel list with the channel editor, in the left hand column you see Sats, if you click on the + next to the Sat you will get a dropdown of all the TP's, you can then delete the dead TP's, but if you click any TP you will get the list of the channels on the TP there maybe some that you wish to delete, especially on 28 east where you have the regional channels for BBC, ITV etc, I hope that this will be of some help to you.

Thanks mate sorry still a bit confused though. Do I have to load the Microsoft file into the 6000 as well as the editor? Because when I S/W update the editor file doesn't show just a USBO message on the left side.
Cheers,
Tim.

I have never used the channel editor and on reading here thought I would give it a go. I saved my channel list from my Spider of which I had painstakingly put in the order I require favorites as well. I started the editor and loaded my list my intention was to delete dead TPs so after reading your post Aldo of Black okay Red dead. My problem is after hitting any of the + signs all the TPs are read could you please advise as to what I am not doing correctly?

Did you read the instructions provided with the channel editor, it would appear that you have not installed the .Net Framework file to your PC, not the channel editor, then load the channel editor.

@cannydo
Did you install the latest.Netframework file in the link provided, and if so then when you click on the + next to the Sat you wish to edit, you should get a dropdown with all of the listed for that Sat, if you then click on any TP in that list you should get a list of all the channels in that TP to the right of the TP List, then you can edit that TP, I hope that this is of some help to you.

Aldo I installed
_http://www.microsoft.com/download/en...ng=en&id=24872 to my PC
but I had a message that an updated version is already installed
Still not sure what I am supposed to do with it. Does it open the channel editor so it can be loaded into the 6000?
Cheers,
Tim.

your OS has to have the necessary files installed for many programs to run correctly
if you already have the netframework installed, then no need to try to install it
just run the channel editor on your pc, edit your channel list and save it
this saved file is then installed in the usual manner onto the box, via a usb stick
the channel editor depends on your pc to have the correct files installed, none of which has anything to do with the spiderbox 6000
inability to use a pc program on a pc is a pc problem, not a spiderbox problem

Oh right, thank you echelon.
Tim.
" Does it open the channel editor so it can be loaded into the 6000? "
The channel editor is not loaded on to your receiver, it is installed on to your PC, so that you can edit the channel list on your PC instead of using the channel editor on the receiver, and the .Netframework file enables the channel editor to run correctly on your PC.

So I copy my current channel list, basically everything on 13e 19e and 28.2e to USB stick.
Put it into my PC, then edit the TPs using .Netframework file.
Save that and load in the 6000 usual way?
Cheers,
Tim.

nope
netframework is only required in windows, nothing else
your channel.ssu list (your choice of name) goes onto the stick from the spiderbox
then stick in the pc, load in the .ssu file to the channel editor on the pc from the stick
edit as you wish in the editor on the pc
save the edited file to usb stick with new name.ssu (your choice)
load into spiderbox from the usb stick and test
the usb stick acts as a transporter to get the file from the spider to the pc and back again
the editor is a pc program and is used on the pc to edit or make channel files
