Thanks mate - must have had a brainstorm - assuming there's one there in the first place!! lol!!
All I wanted to know was whether the LNB in question(MTI) may help me to get better quality reception etc, especially on the 'awkward' sats, e.g. 23.5E and maybe 26E?
Thanks again for your considerable patience, not to mention sense of humour!!

Cheers mdt - left things be at present so still using my good old white Sharpe, maybe leave expense and experimenting until the finer weather in the Spring?

Mti ap82-xt2n is the best lnb on the market. I tried it against the black ultra single, twin and quad but the Mti came out top. Admittedly it's expensive but it's the best lnb around. Just try it and see for yourself.

Thanks for your advice mate - but is it best for ALL satellites, or only certain ones - maybe as suggested by others with the black inverto?

Here in Ghana, West Africa I have tracked some channels on hot bird, 19.2 East, badr4 and sky uk. The lnb is good on all those satellites. It's not only good on big dishes persons with small dishes have also praised it. Try it and see for yourself.

Cheers mate, will think about it, but being a pensioner I HAVE to be certain that its really worth it!!
Thanks again for your opinion!

@ holmroad what you need to know is what people have tested and got better results on the same dish as yours similar location ON THE WEAKER SIGNALS/SATS.

you will find plenty of posts saying they got better signals on hotbird and 28.2 (UK), but a total waste of time no point improving them at all.

Yes mate thanks - that's what I'd thought I was hinting at to ymt when I was implying that there's no point in spending £36 on something just for the sake of it, but which may not actually improve my lot 'generally'! Think 7W and 26E are obvious sats where any improvement 'could' help my lot - but even with these not sure that I would!! lol!!

Goodday ymt,
Please can you elaborate on your tracking of 19.2e?
I mean the best tp to use,and what percentage are you getting on your 5M dish and number of channels
blessed day!

The best tp to use for tracking is 11244 H 22000. Though some tp are sometimes stronger. On to 5402 hd receiver I get about 75 per cent. The best signal ever on 19.2 East is 81 percent but on a different tp. I have never had up to 200 channels ranges between 120 and 180 channels. My regret though us that I am on able to scan the sky sport channels there. Remember my 5.2 meter dish is motorised and not fixed on one satellite. Believe me it's a great deal of work to move such a huge dish from East to west and pick the desired satellites on its track.
