Hi,

I've just saved an old TomTom One v4 (4N00.005) from the skip, but it arrived without maps or OS.

As I had a TomTom One XL a long time ago I was able to link the new One to my TomTom account and it let me update/install the OS, but unfortunately it won't go beyond the 'Select Map' screen on the unit.

As I'd like to use the unit as an additional GPS speedo on my Westfield (the speedo is somewhat hidden behind the steering wheel) I don't really need up to date maps, but as it needs a map to be usable, I'm somewhat stuck?

Any kind soul able to assist?

Thanks in advance

Quinten

I don't know yet... it's currently downloading (slowly), but looking at the patch process I suspect I'll get nowhere. I'm an OSX/Linux user, with no access to a Windows PC :(

but that isnt a tomtom issue, you always need the correct tools to complete a task !

I have a tom tom one v3 using the navcores and maps from the sticky threads, so can assure you they work

the info , and files you need are in the sticky threads and you are welcome to use any of them you wish to, but using the correct tool (like a windoze pc) is down to you (same as using the correct tools on your westfield)

J'excuse! After installing a VirtualBox XP machine, downloading the map suitable for my Navcore version and realising that I had to select the Patch button after I had generated the dict, the TomTom finally came back to life.

Nothing to see here, move along :victory-045:
