Can anyone please help.
The receiver is live, F100 starts as normal, then on the display, with the remote i can only do the following:, switch it on/off,menu, and thats it.

The display just switches between menu and 0000.

If i was able to get the menu and options on the Television screen it would be a help.this has happened once before but have forgotten what i done to fix it.

I have tried switching the set off at the back removing the mains plug leaving off overnight.

i remember this happerning to a friend of mine long time ago...he fixed his by going manually on box to the menu...not menu from remote..
because like yours it was not operateing from remote
after he had manually got to menu..by using box buttons...after a reboot it went ok back to working off remote
when he went into menu of box...somehow the settings for tv format had been changed...he put that to auto..rebooted box..all was fine
hope this fixs your problem...if not...you will need one of the other guys on this forum to help...

" The display just switches between menu and 0000. "

It would appear that you have no channels stored, if Extrafacto's info does not work then you may have to use the recovery tool to sort out the problem, you can find it here:

I would agree with Aldo in that you have no Sats or Channels hence the 0000 without them the remote don't have a lot to do. Back in 2012 this happened to me on my 9000 HD, also like you my remote was of no use. I operated the buttons on the receiver to bring up menu screen, went though button pushing till I reached factory reset in the menu screen and said yes. Then I set up receiver as normal from new ie. the 1111 on the remote as instructed from the sticky's then added my channel list from my memory stick and all was back to normal.
