Hi, I flashed a firmware from USB, found here https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?168373-Amiko-Mini-HD-Combo-Firmware-and-Channel-List

But I think I flashed the wrong one, my box is Amiko Mini Combo and now when I turn it on, I get the Amiko logo and then IDENT Error --UNINIT!

Is there a way I can fix this? I think the firmware on this thread is the one I should have used

I read about rescue images but I can't seem to find one.

Thanks alot!

lavaman seems to know about these and other amiko boxs...so hopefully he could guide you on how to fix your problem
or maybe try going on amiko forum...all downloads are on there for any amiko box
can you not get into menu on box...if not by using remote...manually
then try doing factory reset...may work

IDENT error is usually the result of a bad flash or incorrect firmware flash, you should always choose SW+Bootloader as the update method unless guided otherwise, also make sure you have the correct firmware for the receiver, for example there is a Mini Combo and Mini Combo SE - the firmwares are different so you need the right one. Anyway that's just for future refference but you are where you are right now... IDENT error can usually be cured by re-flashing via RS232, with the Mini Combo you will need the 3.5mm jack to RS232 adapter lead to do this, so first things first do you have one of these leads handy?

Just another small word to the wise, you are likely to upset someone before long if you post the same thing or more than one thread, best to stick to one thread, it'll be easier to get help and keep everyone happy. :)

Here is the latest loader software attached which should be good for the Mini Combo as well as various others in the Amiko HD range.

The other thing you will need is a Windows PC with a serial port, if you have one with a dedicated serial port then use that. If you will be using a USB to serial converter to connect to the receiver rather than a dedicated serial port (very common these in these days where built in serial ports are not!) then ideally you want a converter with FTDI chip, this should connect most every time then (assuming it's not something more terminal of course) where as the non-FTDI based ones can be hit and miss, no harm in trying though if that's all you have.

There will be a new 28.2 East channel list released a little later today which is also the firmware and gives you access to online updates, I will post this here in the thread a little later, then when the lead arrives you should have everything you need to get you back up and running again. You shouldn't need it, but good luck all the same!

It sounds like the connection on your computer you are looking at is not the one you want, they look similar but your monitor connection is likely a 15 pin VGA connection, where as the one you want (for connection to the receiver) will be a 9 pin serial connection - both ports use the D type connection but both are for very different things. If your computer doesn't have the serial connection on board (and it's quite common for modern PCs not to have this these days) then you'll want to get yourself the USB-Serial adapter mentioned above, go for th FTDI chipset based ones though, they'll be a little more but they do work!

As promised attached is the very latest 28.2 East channel list for the Amiko Combo HD USB update which was released just a couple of hours ago. It contains the latest channel list along with the firmware so I would suggest using this file as the one to re-flash your receiver when all your cables arrive.

Here is just a small bit of text to show what the channel list update contains:
Update April 15/04/15

Channel list update

New Frequency for:

Extreme Sports
Sikh Channel
Sky Living +1
Jewelry Maker
CBS Action
Sky Sports News HQ
Heat
Magic

New Channels added:
Spike

Also update time to BST and altered audio default on movie channels to English stereo

Update now available online (Menu > Internet > Ftp Upgrade > Connect (RED) > Highlight your required update > Upgrade (RED) > All SW + bootloader > OK)
