You don't need to load the CCcam.cfg file you just edit the one already located in the var folder, etc sub folder, right click, select the View/Edit option, delete everything currently in it, then paste your lines and save it.

If you have already loaded CCcam 2.30, and activated it, following Lee's, from Goldwafers, excellent guides:
https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?133588-Dummies-guide-to-setting-up-Vu-Duo

To select the cam press the Blue button and use the left/right arrow, and OK navigation buttons to select the cam.

if the file was on your pc (already edited) you would login to the box using the ftp program and navigate to the etc folder inside the var folder, just like on a pc using explorer

then you transfer the file , either with copy and paste, or transfer, depending on the FTP program being used

qdir and total commander are 2 more ways you may be able to access the box to transfer or move or copy & paste the file across (I usually use flash fxp)

if the file is already there, rename it before transferring a new cfg file , so add OLD into the name of the installed file

but as mentioned above, if its already in there, just edit it and copy/paste/save the c or n line into it

these FTP programs usually come with their own help in the menus, plus tutorials online and sometimes you tube videos

always google the question in case you find existing tutorials for any task

its the same process you asked about for an old dreambox here

https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?170576-CLine-in-DB-500

only with the duo you use BH (or vix) , an E2 cccam for BH (or vix) and follow the same process

for BH on a duo use cccam v2.30 using the E2 one specifically for BH

Please post back, if you have any problems, or get it working, as some threads go unanswered leaving us guessing if the problem was resolved.

I am still trying to get me head round what you and echelon have told me

My problem is I am not very Tec minded and to try and put Tspanel and a CCcam into the Duo

I have had to re flash the Reveiver about 7/8 times

Yes I know that is the way to learn

But it took me 31/2 days to learn how to flash a DB 500

So you see where I am coming from

It really is simple, to get the basics working.

First load the latest Black Hole, via your USB stick, as per the guides:
https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?133588-Dummies-guide-to-setting-up-Vu-Duo

Then use the automated set up to configure your channels, and internet connection.

Once done check your receivers IP address, you'll need this to connect using Filezilla:
Menu, Setup, System, Network.
Select the connection, LAN or WLAN, and press the green button, on your remote, to select it, then press OK on Adapter Settijngs and note your receivers IP address.

Once this is done move to your PC, download FileZilla, or use the version provided by Lee, in the VU+ Control Centre.

In Host put the receivers IP address, e.g. 192.168.1.13, in username put root, leave everything else blank and press quick connect.

You now need to transfer CCcam 230, from your PC to your receiver, which you can get from here:
https://www.satpimps.co.uk/showthread.php?142280-VuPlus-Community-Black-Hole-Image-EMU-S
Place the CCcam 230 file on your desktop, to make it easier to find.

Now in Filezilla, in the lefthand pane, you should see the CCcam 230 file, drag this to the tmp folder, in the right hand pane.
Once done go back to your receiver, press the green, then orange, buttons, and manually install the cam.
Once complete exit and press the Blue Button, to locate, and activate the cam, using the < > and OK button.
Once you have done this go back to Filezilla and look for the CCcam.cfg file in the Var folder, etc sub folder.

Please post back if you experience any problems, or have any other questions.

ideally fix your receiver ip address manually, so it always uses the same ip address

so if the router is 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.0.254 , put the dm500 on say 50
so thats 192.168.0.50

then put the duo on say 80 , so thats 192.168.0.80 (a different last number between 2 and 253)

this means the box is always on the same ip address, so you can always use the same login

ideally , use DCC to connect and use telnet in dcc to set a password

this means typing passwd into the box and setting a new one (this should be in the vu and dm tutorials)

dont make it complicated , for example you could use queen1975 or whatever (lower case)

then it becomes

root
queen1975

for the login , meaning its password protected now

so in simple terms

set the ip address to a permanent one (in the receiver menu , network)

set the password login to a permanent one (using a telnet session)

any plugins you need to install go to var/tmp (transfer , copy/paste etc)

they are then installed using the plugin ipk installer in the plugins menu

these may include tspanel , tsmedia , cccam , mgcamd , etc

think of it as like a pc running an operating system, not a receiver like the spider

Use Filezilla, it's free, and easy, just download the VU Control Centre, from Lee:
