Help needed if possible please! :-)

Hi folks! Total newcomer to all of this map thing so please, have patience with me!

Basically my uncle has kindly donated his old One XL to me (which I thought was nice of him!) only to find out the maps are from like 2002 or something like that!

Could someone spare a few minutes and explain what I need to do and where to go and give a guy a helping hand please? Yes I've read up on the other posts but I think I must just be a bit dumb cus quite frankly, I don't really get it :-(

Oh hang on, I'm not on my VAG group on fb now am I. Sorry, wrong community. 79 views and no replies? yeah cheers for that and btw, take the hint. I'm sure all of you had to start SOMEWHERE at SOME stage... did you get help when you asked a question??? YES... here's me who knows NOTHING about satnavs asking for SOME kind of clue and not one person takes the time to give ANY piece of info? shame on you :( *sigh*

Lol yes I helped him on his way out.
He's just a lazy leecher - all the information he needs is posted in here, on there & several other sites and most members on all those sites have followed the help and information available along with the software and files etc. and not had many problems.

lazy leecher huh? right ok. so what exactly have I been leeching? sure as hell ain't help for free is it. anyway, I'm all fixed up cus... and this goes to show how clueless I actually am about these things... the unit I was given has free updates for life on it so as far as I'm aware, i'll be fine with, or without assistance. btw, isn't it odd that the only time I got ANY kind of reply was when I WASN'T asking nicely for someone to take a moment to gimme a clue... hmmmm. says it all really. adios and have fun 'gentlemen' (using that term loosely).
