Can I clarify something?

I am in the extreme SE UK.

No, that's not what I want clarified. :)

The satellite I use to initially set up on is 0.8w.

I do this by setting the mount to 0 (goto 0)?
And that should then be aligned with 0.8w.

Is that correct?

Then it's just a matter of tweaking slightly. I will be using Usals.

Nearly correct your motor should be on the '0' setting when mounted on the pole and then rough as you can or as accurately as you can point the whole array due south, then let the receiver move the motor to 0.8° west and then align it from there

the zero degrees points due south of you

if that due south is 0.8w (so slightly west of greenwich) then you would be correct that 0.0 degrees points at 0.8w (like for example , SANDHURST)

but if you are in the SE then 0.8w is a lot further west from your position

let us assume you were at 1.2 east of london , then 0.8w is nowhere near south of you , its 2 degrees away from you

if you add your position to your box in usals, then select 0.8w for thor, it will move the motor to the correct position for thor

this is the easiest way to align the motor

if you are at 1.2 east, then your zero will point at 1.2 east, even if there is no satellite there

so dover or ramsgate or great yarmouth etc will be about 1.4 to 1.7 east, so about 2.5 degrees east of thor

51.213 North.
1.255 East.

in that case your zero pointer will have to point at 1.25 east (but there is nothing there to point it at)

best to use usals and either line up on 0.8w or 3.1e

I will use 0.8w as I normally do.

At least I finally have nice weather to try and get it right. :)
